O there are arising scoffers and accusers who turn against to the Lamb of God and His Word, to their own destruction.
"First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires” (II Peter 3:3). They turn against to the Lamb of God and His Word, to their own destruction.

O the Sovereign LORD Reveals!
There were seen two flags coming out from earth. Both of them stating their capacity as a sovereign power to declare the new world order. All the people in the world look at them very anxiously to know who will lead it? Some are telling that none of them would lead it, but a third one is and yet to come. Finally they agreed to one of them to declare the new world order, the leader saying all all people...around the are safe...and secure...under my sovereignty....

Fear the LORD, the God Almighty in the heaven...
"Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son (Jesus Christ) lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him" (Psa 2:11-12, Joh 3:36, Rev 14:7). "Fear the LORD; you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing" (Psa 34:9, Deut 28:58-59, Levi 25:18-18, Luk 12:5, Act 10:1-2, Rev 19:5)

This is what the LORD Almighty says: Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other (Zech 7:9-10). These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; do not plot evil against your neighbour, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this, declares the LORD (Zech 8:16-17)

The Day of the LORD
O the LORD Almighty says: I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD (Joel 2:28-31).
And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved...(Joel 2:32). Remember; Jesus Christ Is the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS (Rev 19:16) His Name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that JESUS CHRIST is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Phil 2:9-11)

The LORD Almighty judges each of us according to his own ways!
O the LORD Almighty says: I will judge each of you according to his own ways (Ezek 33:20). "So I will come near to you for judgment. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud labourers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice, but do not fear me, says the LORD Almighty" (Malachi 3:5). Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out...(Acts 3:19). "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom 6:23), Amen.

According to the Old Testament of the Bible, Sodom and Gomorrah were two cities destroyed by God because of their wickedness. God could find no righteous people in the city! In the case at the great city of Nineveh, It was God's plan to destroy, because its wickedness has come up before God, but when the people repented, from the king on down, God adjusted His plan and spared the city (Jonah 1:1, 3:5-10)

God’s four dreadful judgments!
O the Sovereign LORD says: How much worse will it be when I send against Earth my four dreadful judgments – sword and famine and wild beasts and plague – to kill its men and their animals! Yet there will be some survivors – sons and daughters who will be brought out of it (Ezekiel (14:21). Rev. Dr. Pappachan Baby

All mankind must know about JESUS CHRIST, the purpose of His arrival into the world. He came down from heaven into the world not to establish a religion or revolutionarily develop a society, or a group. When we go through the word of God (Creator of Universe), He does not have a religion or a revolutionarily developed society, or a group. He is not the God of any particular religion, society or a group. Then, He is the LORD, the GOD of all mankind dwelling on the earth. “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind” (Jerem 32:27, Rom 3:29). But, God the creator of universe to be the LORD, the GOD to all mankind must obey the same word of what commanded by Him. God has commanded the word that when He sends Jesus Christ into the world all mankind must obey the word what Jesus has said, if any one failed will be condemned (Deut 18:18-19, Joh 5:45-47).

So, it is most important to know all mankind about Jesus Christ, the purpose of His arrival into the world and the word what He has said. No religion and its creator or revolution and its creator, or Gods of this world can give you eternal life and take you to the heaven. They are all came from the flesh of this world only. They can do nothing. “…Gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens” (Jerem 10:11). All the religions established in God's name in different ways by the flesh of this world only. If you follow any religion that established in God's name by the flesh of this world can never be saved. God sent Jesus Christ into this world not to establish a religion or revolutionarily develop a society, or a group. Jesus did not do it. He just only obeyed the word commanded by Father God Almighty. “…Father has sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world” (1Joh 4:14, Joh 3:17) i.e. Jesus Christ is the one who has been anointed by God and sent from heaven into the world to be the saviour of the world.

Jesus - Saviour

Christ - Anointed

Jesus Christ - The anointed saviour sent by God

We, Christian Believers, not following a religion, then, we follow in the WAY of the LORD. (Act 18:25, 9:2, Psa 118:19-23,) There are two ways 1. The way of the life. 2. The way of the death. (Jerem 21:8, Jon 5:28,29, 2Cor 2:16). We, Christian Believers, follow the WAY of the life, in the WAY of the LORD, that is Jesus Christ. “Jesus answered, I am the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus came and said to all mankind dwelling on the earth to follow this true WAY only, because he is the only true WAY sent by GOD. So, no question that there are many ways to go to heaven, thereafter, no one will come and save you. “Therefore Jesus said again, I tell you the truth, I am the GATE for the sheep…. I am the GATE; whoever enters through me will be saved” (John 10:7,9) Also please read the word said by Jesus those who climbs in by some other way, other than the true way!!! “I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the GATE, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber” (John 10:1).

Dear Believers, stand firm, “Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other NAME under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Act 4:12). God has laid the true foundation that is Jesus Christ, no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid by God Almighty. “For no-one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1Cor 3:11). Amen, Hallelujah! The Eternal Life that came through Jesus Christ is the salvation to all mankind. In which you will enter when you obey the word commanded by God. The eternal life, that God given to those who believe in Jesus Christ is the most highest gift in their life. “…The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 6:23).

The Eternal Life

By the sin of Adam all the generation were became in death, but God has kept the mercy that to give his beloved Son to the world to save all the mankind from their death. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Jesus came into this world to save you, which is not on his own interest. Then, God almighty has sent him from heaven into this world. “…I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me” (John 8:42). Thus, Jesus did not speak anything to the world of his own accord, then, God has commanded him the word what to say and how to say. “…I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it” (John 12:49).

God almighty has given the WAY to all mankind to have eternal life through believing his Son Jesus Christ only. So, it is very important to all mankind to obey the word what Jesus has said in God’s name. “I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death” (John 8:51). When you hear the word of Jesus Christ, you have obeyed Father God Almighty who sent Jesus into this world, so that you will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life” (John 5:24). For the salvation of all mankind God has sent from heaven into this world is his Son Jesus Christ only. God has not sent anyone else into this world, there after no one will come again, will not have one, ever (Act 4:12).

The one who came from heaven into this world can only give you eternal life. Till to-day after the creation of the universe no one has come from heaven into this world in flesh, i.e. Jesus Christ only. He is the one bread of life. “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live for ever” (John 6:51). It means Jesus is the living bread sent by God from heaven into this world to give life to all mankind dwelling on the earth. “…the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world” (John 6:33). Jesus Christ is the bread of life (John 6:48). But, the one who believe in him and obey the word what he has said can only have the life. Whoever rejects the Son and his word will not see life, God’s wrath remains on him. “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him” (John 3:36).

When we refer through out the Word of God (Bible), it reveals that Jesus Christ is filled in every chapter. The Bible emphasis to all mankind, that the salvation will only come through believing in Jesus Christ and obey his word. Many of the people generally claim at a word that they believe in Jesus Christ, but found not in deeds. If anyone claim that he believe in Jesus Christ, but not in deeds is a dead. The Bible says: “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead” (James 2:26). Remember, if you are a dead the God (creator of universe) will not be the LORD, GOD to you. “He is not the God of the dead, but of the living” (Luke 20:38). If you have the Jesus Christ has life, if you don’t have the Jesus Christ has no life. “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1John 5:12). The one who obey the word commanded by God and accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, then, God the creator of the universe will be the Lord, God to you, forever. “No-one who denies the Son has the father, whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also” (1John 2:23).

Dear Reader, You judge yourselves! Are you of the life or under the sin? “For the wages of sin is death” (Rom 6:23). The death will throw into the lake of fire and the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever.

Revelation 20:14 “Then death and hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death” (eternal death).

Revelation 14:11 “And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever”

Revelation 21:8 “But the cowardly, the unbelieving , the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-their place will be in the fiery lake of burning"

It is your decision; you must turn from “your way” and completely surrender to Jesus Christ to save you…

Isaiah 55:7 “Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon”

Act 16:31 “Believe in the LORD Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household”

Act 10:43 “All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believe in him receives forgiveness of sin through his name” God saves you forever when you believe in Jesus Christ…If you believe and accept Jesus Christ as your saviour, Just open your mouth and confess….Jesus, I now admit that I am a sinner, going to hell, and need you as my saviour. I now completely surrender to you and trust you as my saviour. I trust in your blood shaded in Calvary Cross in which my sin debt has been PAID IN FULL. Thank you LORD, Jesus Christ to pay for my sins and save me from going to hell, Amen.

Worshipping God in spirit and in truth is the true worship. Anyone who wants to be a true worshipper of God must worship him in spirit and in truth. God Almighty wants all his worshippers must worship him in spirit and in truth. “True worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth” (Joh 4:23-24). But, many of our Christian believers today are not wise enough and having knowledge in worshipping God. They found in lack of knowledge and unwise. Due to this, many are under the power of darkness. They are not aware of that very word which is written in the Bible will condemn them at the last day. “There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day” (Joh 12:48). For everyone learning the word of God, it is must for them to teach their children also in truth, so that they can never move to a wrong worship or sit among its people. The word of God says: “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you…and will ignore your children” (Hosea 4:6). So, Dear Readers, You must judge yourselves whether you and your children are wrong in worshiping God? The way which you following is the same as that written in the Bible? Let us hear what our Lord Jesus said about it! “Jesus answered them, how wrong you are! And do you know why? It is because you don’t know the Scriptures or God’s power” (Mark 12:24).

Some ignorant and unstable people distort the true word of God like as they do the other scriptures also, which caused many people’s destruction. The Holy Spirit revealed to Apostle Peter that some of the scriptures written by Apostle Paul in the “New Testament” are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction (2Pet 3:15-18). People those who are not filled in Holy Spirit, contain of the scriptures may hard for them to understand. “The spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God” (1Cor 2:10). God want all his worshippers must be filled and guided by Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit only can guide a person into all truth. The Holy Spirit never and ever will misguide a person, because He is the Spirit of Truth, sent by God. “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth” (Joh 16:13). A Man without the Holy Spirit cannot understand contains of the scriptures and he cannot accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. “The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from this Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1Cor 2:14).

Dear Readers, All of you must make Judgment and be wise enough about all things. You should not be misguided by unclean spirit at any cost. “The Spiritual man makes judgment about all things” (1Cor 2:15). Any of the man or prophet that comes to you and guides you into any other way other than the true way of the Lord Jesus Christ, be wise, the spirit guides you through them are not true. “But the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (Joh 14:26). And also, be wise, the true Spirit will always bring Glory to Jesus Christ, by taking from what Jesus said when he was in flesh. “He (True Spirit) will bring Glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you” (Joh 16:14). And He will always testify about Jesus Christ... "When the Counsellor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, He will testify about me" (Joh 15:26). Remember, true Spirit always will acknowledge Jesus Christ and the new covenant in his blood. Spirit rises against the Lord Jesus Christ and the new covenant in his blood is not true Spirit. “But every Spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist” (1Joh 4:3). And also the word of God says: “Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him” (2Joh 9-10).

Wrong worship:

Sacrifices & Burnt offerings: God says: “The multitude of your sacrifices what are they to me? Says the LORD, I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls, and lambs and goats” (Isa 1:11).

God instructs you to stop such killing of any living flesh, sacrifice them and offering burnt. He has no pleasure in the blood of bulls, and lambs and goats or any flesh living on earth. "Because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins” (Heb 10:4). Instead of such sacrifices & burnt offerings “Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures (As per prophecies in the Old Testament), that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1Cor 15:3-4). Jesus Christ has died for our sins and shaded his own blood in Calvary Cross in which our sin debt has been PAID IN FULL. “The blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” (1Joh 1:7), (Isa 1:18). And also, remember, God says: “I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens, for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine. If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it” (Psa 50:9-12) Then what God want from you? He want from you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Rom 12:1-2) Hallelujah!

Bringing meaningless offerings: God says: “Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me” (Isa 1:13). God instructs you to stop bringing meaningless offering; such as burning cantle, setting sandal, lamp, etc. Instead of such bringing meaningless offerings; God says: “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name” (Psa 100:4), “Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol (worship) him with music and song” (Psa 95:2), “Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling” (Psa 2:11), “The LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love” (Psa 147:11), "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe" (Heb 12:28).

New Moon festivals and appointed feasts: God says: “New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations – I cannot bear your evil assemblies. Your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts my soul hates. They have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them” (Isa 1:13-14).

God instructs you to stop religious festivals, appointed feasts, evil assemblies, Sabbaths, convocations, etc. God says: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past” (Isa 43:18), “The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless” (Heb 7:18), “I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and laws they could not live by” (Eze 20:25), Then you may question God! Why God has given such a Law? He answers: “What, then, was the purpose of the law? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was put into effect through angels by a mediator” (Gal 3:19), So, “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day” (Col 2:16).

Bow down and worship other Gods: God says: “You shall have no other Gods before me” (Deu 4:7), (Exo 20:3).

God instructs you to stop bowing down to other Gods and worshipping them, There is only one God (Creator of Universe) and one Mediator. “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1Tim 2:5). Be wise, don’t approach to other Gods other than the only one God (Creator of Universe), they can do nothing, all of them will be perished. “These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens” (Jer 10:11).

Bow down to idol and worship them: God says: “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them” (Deu 5:8,9), “You do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars-all the heavenly array-do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshipping things the LORD your God has appointed to all the nations under heaven” (Deu 4:16-19)

God instructs you to stop bowing down to idol and worshipping them. “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of Heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else” (Act 17:24-25). So, be wise, as per the word of God don’t place any kind of idol in your home or church and worship them. “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practise magic arts, the idolaters and all liars – their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulphur” (Rev 21:8), “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves not the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God” (1Cor 6:9-10). So, “Dear children, keep yourselves from idols” (1Joh 5:21).

Remember, All those kind of worships are wrong before God, He will never listen to your worship and prayer. “When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen” (Isa 1:15).

True worship:

God want all the people are to be wise enough in worshiping him. Your thanksgiving, praising, worship, prayer and all the glory must reach to the true God through the true way. Many wrong ways we have read over here. If you worship in wrong ways, all the glory will go to the devil (Lucipher). If you want to be a true worshiper, you must obey the word of God. He has very strictly instructed all the mankind dwelling on earth must obey his word, otherwise you will be destroyed. “Therefore, you kings, be wise, be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, (Worship in the name of Son Jesus Christ) lest he (God) be angry and you be destroyed in your way (way-while you are in flesh)” (Psa 2:10-12). Let us think, be wise, since your birth till the end of your life you are warned by God to obey his words. You have no choice to go to any other way other than the true way of LORD i.e. his Son Jesus Christ. “All kings will bow down to him (him-Jesus Christ) and all nations will serve him” (Psa 72:11). And also the word says: “The desert tribes will bow before him (him-Jesus Christ) and his enemies (antichrist) will lick the dust” (Psa 72:9).

Remember, if you don’t obey the word of god today, one day all of you will have to bow before him and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God. “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phi 2:10-11). So, be wise, he is the true way, If you are not remain in him, God the Father will be angry and you be destroyed in your own way. “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit” (Joh 15:1). Ignoring the word of God you can do nothing. “Apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned” (Joh 15:5-6).

During the time of Jesus born, Magi came from the east to Jerusalem to worship him, when they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they were wise to worship him only. “On coming to the hose, they (Magi) saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him” (Mat 2:11). God always looks down from heaven on the earth to see if there are any who wise, any who seek God. “God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God” (Psa 53:2). So, serve Jesus Christ, you will receive an inheritance from him as a reward. “Since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favouritism” (Col 3:24-25).

And also, many of our Christian believers are not wise enough in prayer. They don’t know how to pray and to whom should they pray and in whose name…. Many are upset or questioned for not getting answers to their prayers, for which Jesus answers: “I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete” (Joh 16:23-24). Also Jesus answers to your prayer when you ask for anything to him in his name “You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it” (Joh 14:14). If anyone comes to pray or worship at the feet of God it should be in the name of Jesus Christ. God has not given any other name other than Jesus Christ. “Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Act 4:12).

When you approach to God Almighty (creator of universe) you must remain in Jesus Christ and his words remain in you, then you can ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. “If you remain in me and my word remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you” (Joh 15:7) Remember, whatever you do spiritually or ask anything in prayer must be it all in the name of Lord Jesus Christ, then only you will have answer from God Almighty. Your worship, prayer, thanksgiving, praising, and whatever you do, whether in word or deed it must be in the name of Jesus Christ. “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Col 3:17). Because of the lack of knowledge in the scriptures many of our Christian believers are misguided. They approach other gods and mediators for their benefits, never God Almighty (creator of universe) will answer you. He has not kept any other mediator than Jesus Christ or other Gods. “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1Tim 2:5). And also Jesus Christ is the mediator for the new covenant (Heb 9:15). So, there is no question, the foundation, which was laid by God Almighty no one can change, there is only one foundation that is Jesus Christ. “For no-one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1Cor 3:11). Amen, Hallelujah!!

And also, be wise, all other mediators are from flesh, no one has ever gone into heaven except Jesus Christ. “No-one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven-the Son of Man” (Joh 3:13). They cannot intercede for us, because they are not raised to eternal life, all of them are still in the tomb. They will rise up only at the second coming of Jesus Christ. The Bible says: “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord for ever” (1Thes 4:16-17), (Joh 5:28-29). But, Jesus Christ tomb is open, who was raised to life. “Christ Jesus, who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (Rom 8:34).

So, Dear Readers, be wise, don’t go through any other mediator, they can do nothing. “It is not the dead who praise the LORD, those who go down to silence” (Psa 115:17). And also we learned that they are not raised up to life. Remember, If God Almighty has not kept any other mediator than Jesus Christ, as per the word: “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1Tim 2:5). (Luk 22:20), (Heb 9:15), (Joh 16:23-24), (Joh 10:7-9), (Joh 14:6), (Act 4:12), (Col 3:17), (Col 1:19-20) And also if he has strongly instructed you “For no-one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1Cor 3:11). Then, how can you choose yourself other mediator?? Don’t be fool. God says: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” (Mat 24:35). If somebody claim that they have got something when they ask through any other mediator other than Jesus Christ, which is not from God Almighty, devil has provided it. And that will be a temporary benefit only. Offcourse, through that benefit you gave chance to Satan to enter into your personal life, he will always claim with it!! Become you and your family will be fully under the control of Satan. He comes not to save you. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (Joh 10:10).

Remember, God Almighty has not given many ways to go to Heaven. When the world themself create many ways to go to God (Heaven), Jesus Christ says: “I am the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE. No-one comes to the Father (God) except through me” (Joh14:6). Jesus came into this world and said to all the mankind dwelling on the earth to follow him only, because he is the only true WAY sent by God. So, no question that there are many ways to go to heaven, thereafter, no one will come and save you. “Therefore Jesus said again, I tell you the truth, I am the GATE for the sheep…. I am the GATE; whoever enters through me will be saved” (John 10:7,9) Also please read the word said by Jesus those who climbs in by some other way, other than the true way! “I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the GATE, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber” (John 10:1).

Dear Readers, listen and follow always the will of God! “For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” (Joh 6:40) Also listen and accept God’s testimony: We always listen and accept others testimony, but, God’s testimony is stronger because it is the testimony of God. “We accept man’s testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1Joh 5:9-12) He who has God, ofcourse, he will obey the word of God rather than men. “We must obey God rather than men” (Act 5:29). The word of God says: “Cursed is the man who does not obey the terms of this covenant” (Jer 11:3).

The man blessed he who listens to the God’s instruction and wise in worshiping God. “Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it. Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For whoever finds me finds life and receives favour from the LORD. But whoever fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death” (Pro 8:33-36). So, be wise and knowledge in worshipping God in truth way. “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (Joh 8:32), Amen.

Dear Readers; judge yourselves!! Are you a true worshipper of God? Are you worshipping God in Spirit and in truth? If not, fear not, God saves you forever when you believe in Jesus Christ…If you believe and accept Jesus Christ as your saviour, Just open your mouth and confess….God, I was worshipping you in a wrong way, I now admit that I am a sinner, going to hell, I accept Jesus Christ as my saviour. I now completely surrender to him and trust him as my saviour. Lord Jesus! I trust you and in your blood shaded in Calvary Cross in which my sin debt has been PAID IN FULL. Thank you Lord, Jesus Christ to pay for my sins and save me from going to hell, In Jesus name, Amen.

Many of God’s people are ignorant of the spiritual battle waged in the spirit world against the saint’s of God. In the invisible warfare, the earth has become the battle ground for the souls of men. Satan is using everything in his power including, confusion, deceptive teaching etc to stop or destroy the true followers of Jesus Christ. For any battle to succeed, a workable and intelligent strategy must be breaded first. No army can decide to invade their enemy’s territory without doing a thorough study in the following areas.

a) Assessing the weapons of their enemy

b) Assessing the strengths and weakness of the enemy

c) Gauging past battle performances and skills etc. of the enemy

Nation of the world spends billion of dollars annually on preparing and collecting these kinds of data. Super power nations send spy satellites to space with the aim of shooting pictures of their enemy’s territories, weapons installations and carrying out of spy researches etc. In Ephesians 6:12 the Bible unmasks the demonic forces that are at war with the church of Jesus Christ as shown there below:

“For we wrestle not against the flesh and blood but against principalities, against power, against the rulers of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (in the heavenlies)”. Believers should realize that what is true in the physical realm is also true in the spiritual realm. To many believes the devil is just an imagination or a fantasy and not a reality and any person talking about him is an extremist who should be ignored.

During my first East Africa mission to Nairobi –Kenya in February 1990 I met with a sister in the Lord who could not believe that I was a normal human being. The lady requested that she touches my body in order to believe that I was a normal human being. When she touched the scar on my body to where the computer had been fixed, she just nodded her head indicating that she believed. How many Christians are in this state and yet they profess the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal saviour but in reality they don’t know who their enemy is. Anybody who does not know his enemy well cannot win his battle. God has warned us in His word that His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6).

Dear reader, I want you to realize that Satan is not a small boy or some kind of a toy that you can play with or simply ignore. The Bible refers him as “the god of this world the prince of the air, the angel of light, our adversary, tempter, destroyer, the father of all lies, prince of the world” etc.

There are many Christians in the world today that cannot identify the works of the devil. Jesus said: “the thief cometh not but to steal, to kill and to destroy” (John 10:10). Satan is responsible and is behind many sicknesses, family problems, financial problems, business failure, deaths, destruction of property, mental sicknesses, persecutions and false religious systems, fears, suffering, torments, deception, confusion, doubt, failures accidents etc. These are some of the tools that he uses against mankind to wear them out or destroy them.

Satan has special influence in this world and is committed to his programme of destruction. He would like to take away the peace and joy and replace it with fear, torment, confusion, agony etc. It is only when we are ignorant and fails to recognize his wicked schemes that he will take advantage over us and hold us captive.

I remember when I was in the wicked kingdom of Satan, and during my first meeting that Satan addressed us in person. He told us to use money, wealth and women to destroy the believers and followers of Jesus Christ. Satan has big factories here on earth and under the sea that are on a 24 hours production programme. Many of this factories produce special perfumes, rings, cutexes, bangles, clothes, cars, TV’s, radios, computers etc and other attractive products that are used to lure mankind to sin. These products are then transported to special centres in many nation of the world for sale.

Satan can never be distanced from any accident that takes or took place in any part of the world. The accidents are never manmade but demonically influenced.Immediately after becoming an agent of Satan, I began to destroy property and lives in big numbers that it pleased the devil to appoint me to a senior position in his cabinet -“the chairman of all witches in Africa. Satan also is the author of false religious systems. In the book of John 8:44 the Bible records the following:

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the true, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own for he is a liar, and father of it.” Just as Jesus is the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE, Satan is the source of all lies.” He is an expert of decorating lies to resemble truth.

As the “Chairman of all witches in Africa” I started many false Churches in Nigeria to be able to confuse the young believers with the aim of initiating them to Satan. Many false religions that are mushrooming in the world today have been masterminded by Satan and his agents. The followers of these religious systems surprisingly know very well that their enemies are the true believers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Isn’t it surprising? The suffering and torments that many believers are accustomed to is the work of the Devil. There is a lot of suffering in the house of the Lord because many of God’s people have not yet discovered their real enemy.

Until God’s people come to the understanding that Satan is real and is their enemy who is committed to destroying everything they have, then there will be very little progress.

When I was Satan’s agent, we took advantage of Christians who did not know their God well. Weak Christians risk to be attacked by Satan. They are normally disadvantaged against the servants of Satan because they do not realize when their enemy strikes.

I would like to inform my readers that Satan has a very intelligent mind. He has special influence in this world and for example he has managed to recruit much specialized doctors, engineers, lectures, professors, teachers, scientists, economists, politicians, kings, queens, princes, presidents etc. to his kingdom. When I was taken to the factories and laboratories under the sea by the queen of the coast, I met with some of this men and women who are highly regarded here on earth, labouring for Satan.

The Bible records in John 10:10 “That the thief cometh not but for to steal, kill and destroy"

Many deaths that take place are not accidental but intelligently organized and executed by Satan and his agents. Satan is also responsible for premature deaths, births, miscarriages and other related female problems.

I have included the following two testimonies in this chapter to enable you understand how Satan deceives and torments his victims. Satan is our enemy and we must hate him together with all that is related with him.

The Wicked Young man

There was this young man I would like to call Mr. “B” He was an occult society member. Mr. “B” was deeply involved in witchcraft and in his persuit for more power he was instructed by his leader in the order of darkness to kill his wife and eat her flesh. He did so and after that he changed into a big python and swallowed his last son.

This young man was Satan’s hitman - he destroyed many precious lives through witchcraft. He built a big shrine in front of his house where he kept a big python, tortoise and many pigeons. Many people in the area feared this young man because of his wicked life. At one time the state police found his eating human flesh with the body of a dead person in another corner. The state police were scared of such a monster and they could not do anything against him. After Satan had used the young man’s life he abandoned him for a while.

This young man lived in misery under the powers of darkness. One day I met him and I held a serious talk with him. As I came into his house I could sense the misery all over, he narrated his life experiences to me, after which I asked him to close his eyes so that we could pray together. There was resistance at first, but I continued to pray. As I prayed I told the Lord “the earth and the fullness therein belongs unto the Lord”……, I took power and authority and dominion over the powers of darkness and over all the demonic forces that were binding this young man’s life. I took the authority in the Blood and the name of Jesus Christ. Immediately the young man fell down under the power of God. He started foaming through his mouth as I bound the demons in his that they could not harm him.

Just before his deliverance, after I had shared the gospel with him, he was undecided, but in the process he was filled with a lot of despair, he knew he was a sinner and destined for hell but he did not know how to have his sins forgiven. According to him, he thought he would have to suffer in “purgatory” for many years to pray for his wrong deeds.

He had heard of a nearby catholic monastery which was known for its strict rules than any other in the world. He was told the monks woke up at midnight for services in their chapel. The monks, the young man had to join spent most of their time on hard work in fields, they had to endure heat, cold and storms. They slept on hard bed or floor; they went through personal suffering in the name of penance to pay for their wicked action and sins. They were told this could lessen the time of their suffering in purgatory – (a devil’s lie). They young man felt he could make arrangements to do the same.

One day the young man went to the door of the monastery and rang the bell. At the door an elderly man opened for him. The young man told him that he wanted to know whether there was hope in this life. I believe that the elderly man who met the young man was an angel of God who had been sent to help him find the truth.

The elderly man led the young man into his room. The two were alone in the room so the young man narrated to the elderly man all that he had done. He recalled how a preacher had prayed with him and how undecided he was and how hopeless and empty he was in his inner self.

The young man was ready to do anything to get rid of the guilt and emptiness he was in. He went on and told the monk, “I am ready for anything; I am ready to pay the price because I deserve it that is why I have come to join the monastery if there’s room for me.

The elderly man told him, “If you follow carefully what I am going to tell you then you will go home a free man. You do not have to pay any price, you do not have to labour to be forgiven and accepted by God, what you need to do is to confess your sins to Jesus Christ the saviour. Tell him all the wrongs you have done, after that trust Him to remove the guilt and the emptiness. He has paid the price for your sins and all the wrong doings.”

The young man did exactly that after which the old man told him, “It is finished. Do not do what has already been done for you. The Messiah is the one you needed.”

The Bible says: “..He was made sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God…..”1 (Cor.5:21.)

The Bible says: In John 3:16…whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life…….”

The young man finally stayed with the elderly man where he was able to know Jesus Christ and His Love in a personal way. His life was transformed in a very wonderful and glorious way.

My dear friend, as you read this story could you please pause for a while and ask yourself the following questions. Why am I here? Where am I going? And where will I spend eternity after this life?

Be informed reader that hell is real. The devil is using every weapon at his disposal to take many wonderful souls to hell along with him. Satan is multiplying atrocities and making humanity miserable.

Watch out! Hell will soon come to you if you do not make a decisive commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal saviour.

The Uncompromising Couple

Sometimes back I was told of a couple who had a wonderful testimony, I would like to share it with you in this chapter.

The couple was committed to the Lord Jesus Christ. They lived a life of holiness and love. They trusted the Messiah in everyday of their lives. As a result of their love and commitment to Christ, they suffered a lot of persecution from all directions.

The country where they lived, the inhabitants of the country were very hostile. They never bothered to listen to any gospel preacher – they hated Christianity. Many times the Christians were killed or stoned and treated as outcasts in the community. The couple had two sons. The elder son was called Charlie and the younger John. Because of preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the people, the man (father) was arrested and tortured in jail. This man was assigned hard labour and was given only a slice of bread for his daily meal which he gave to the other weaker Christians in jail who had been jailed together with him.

After five (5) years his wife was also arrested and jailed with hard labour for committing the same offence (preaching about Jesus Christ). Every morning they would get the couple out of jail and give them heavy beatings. They would be ordered to clean up the toilet rubbish and all that kind of thing.

This couple suffered greatly for Jesus, but no matter what happened they were not ready to denounce Him- they were ready to die for him. (How many are ready to pay that kind of a price for the sake of Christ and His gospel?) This couple could not comprise their faith and commitment to Christ. One day the father told his son, though I have gone through all this I will not for sake my Lord Jesus Christ. He asked his son to do him one favour and that was to give his whole life to the Lord Jesus. He assured his son that if he was to die while in jail because of Christ, he would go to heaven because he had stood firm in faith towards Jesus. Charlie said, “Dad I will not commit myself to Jesus because if he was a caring God, he would have brought you out of all this hardship.” The father told Charlie; “Jesus is a good man, He died for me, he suffered for me, therefore this is not a great sacrifice. He loves you so much, He is not only good when things are going well, but He remains good and loving even when things are so bad like now. Why not trust Him to take care of the good as well as the bad”?

Immediately after this the prison guards came and took the father out and began to beat him in the presence of his son. They the men who were carrying out the torture tied his legs and hands. Charlie saw his father bleeding and he could not stand it. He became unconscious when he saw his father being pierced through his hands with a hot metal.

Oh! it was such a horrifying experience for this little boy who saw his father suffer for the sake of his saviour Jesus Christ and the wonderful gospel of the Kingdom.

After a week or so he went to visit his mother in prison. He found her in the same condition as the father; her body was badly damaged to an extent that it was difficult to identify her.

Charlie tried to persuade his mother to denounce the Lord so that she might not suffer so much like that. The mother had firm convictions in the Lord Jesus Christ. She strongly objected, she totally refused to yield to her son’s suggestions. After Charlie had tried and failed, he decided to find out exactly who Jesus was. He finally committed his life to the Lord Jesus Christ.

For some time about two years the two sons remained alone. They had nobody to care for them only God in his own way. A decree had been passed that nobody should assist them at all. Despite this decree God touched one lady and she decided to help them out of sympathy and compassion. She was latter jailed for some time for acting against the decree. Another woman volunteered and she was killed for helping the two young boys.

Charlie was now nine years old. Every morning he could go to the dumping ground to eat left overs. This happened just before Charlie accepted the Lord. He used to wonder why his parents were suffering in prison if Jesus was real. He had refused to believe in the Lord just because of the sufferings and torture he saw his parents go through.

Charlie had one time visited his father in prison and he had tried to convince him to deny the saviour to escape the suffering. The father stood on his conviction and he loved the Lord. He never compromised his faith.

The Bible says in Isaiah 40:30-31 “……Even though the youth shall faint and be weary………but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and they shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint………”

Satan was trying to use Charlie to put pressure on his parents to denounce Jesus. But praise the Lord the couple could not compromise their faith. (Nahum 1:7 please read it).

Increase of demonic activities in the world seems to disturb everyone as Churches are filled with unbelieving believers who are unresistant to the devil and his agents. They are happy to at least hear nothing about the devil because to them he is just a myth. The word of God warns us of this state of affairs in the following scriptures:

“Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of concision” (Phillip 3:2)

“Therefore rejoice ye heavens and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea for the devil is come down into you having great wrath, because he knoweth that he has but a short time” (Rev 12:12).

If you carefully read the above two scriptures, you will notice that we are already in the last days that the word of God warned us about in 11 Timothy 3:1-5 ”this know also that in the last days times shall come, for men shall be lovers of their ownselves, covetous, unholy, proud, blashphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

No one in his or her right mind can deny that they have not witnessed this scripture being fulfilled before their eyes. This things are happening! Sometimes I feel like standing on the highest mountain and shout to believers about their enemy, the Devil, He is a reality! He is alive!

Satan knows that we are in the last days and his time is running out. Because he knows that his destiny is in the hell fire, he has organized his agents to hinder as many people as possible from making it to heaven. Today, he is holding billions of souls under bondage in false religious systems, occult, witchcraft etc. He has seduced these precious souls to turn their hearts away from their creator and eventually spend all their eternity together with him (satan) in hell fire. Today people are not just sinning but are inventing new schemes of committing sin.

I am grateful to God today because I can understand many statements that Satan made while I was his agent. In one meeting he told us to work with great urgency because there was no time left. He also told us that we should ensure that no christian should make it to ‘that Place. I did not understand at that time that Satan was talking about the coming Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ and the judgment of this wicked Kingdom.

Satan knows very well his destiny, but God’s people are in a state of ignorance and Luke warmness, and badly require a second touch.

I would like at this point to indicate a couple of ways that evil spirits use to hold many precious souls captive.

1. Market places

Market place are normally the meeting points and transacting Centres of evil activities) for many servants of satan. Many expectant women loose their pregnancies at market place. Normally a witch would touch a lady’s womb and she would begin to have a miscarriage right away. I would also like to caution people who have a habit of eating anything at the marked places because, they stand a chance of eating demonized foods. Many demons are released at the market by witches and sorcerers and therefore making the environment very dangerous. People who sometimes develop mental problems or are mental should be kept away from this environment to avoid their situation worsening. This is caused by the fighting amongst powerful witches while trying to win supremacy in selling of their products in the market.

2. Visiting Servants of the Devil

Any visit to a witchdoctor or Sorceror or diviners etc exposes the victim to demons. As the Bible says, “such that I have, I give unto you” If the person you are visiting is a witch or sorcerer or diviner he will give you demons. Demons normally don’t require to be invited if the condition of their operation is met.

3. Traditional Ceremonies

Traditional Ceremonies were began by Satan as a way of receiving worship from men. This is commonly observed in burials, marriages, child naming, dedications, ancestral worship, witchcraft ceremonies, attending sacrifice ceremonies and eating food offered to ancestral gods etc.

4. Items of Witchcraft

Keeping items of witchcraft exposes a home, family, and even an entire community to demonic attack and control. Every believer should get rid of all items of witchcraft immediately after salvation and undergo deliverance to avoid demons getting access to their lives. Every items of witchcraft must be destroyed by fire.

5. Cults

A Cult is any organization or faith that exalts a man. Exalting a man is a form of idol worship. Believers should have no relationship with idols as the word of God is against it.

I personally helped start many cults in Nigeria before the Lord saved me. Today by the grace of God, I am crusading against them.

Any dealing with cults (however brief) exposes the person to demons. Any person who has dealt with a cult should seek guidance from a minister of deliverance for release.

6. Gifts from people who represent Satan

There is this new friend you met who is very generous and began to bring you very expensive gifts. Have you questioned yourself why somebody you just met can be that overgenerous? Most of this gifts have demons placed on them to easily win their victims to Satan. The servants of satan know that a gift breaks a person’s resistance. Most of these gifts range from money, perfumes, suits, dresses, shoes, inner wears etc.

Christians should be careful when receiving gifts from people they don’t know well. Lastly, I would like to remind the readers that Satan has no free gift. His gifts are always attached to a condition watch out!!

7. Inheritance

Another door that demons use to enter people’s life is through a family lineage. This means that demons can remain in one family lineage for many generations. This is stated in Exodus 20:5,..“For the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the inquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.”

Who is Satan?

Many volumes of books have been written about the personality and character of Satan, all aimed at digging up his hidden true identity. However, many questions still continue to circulate in the minds of people in this world about this terrible being called Satan.

I met one man who surprised me when he asked to be told if Satan was a demon. Others also wonder whether Satan is more powerful than God. Who is this being that is ill purposed against mankind and whose wicked presence is felt all over the Universal entity.

To men and women of Intellectual excellence, he is a mere imagination by some primitive and old fashioned people. To some religious people, he is just a person’s fantasy that should be ignored.

The word of God foretold this state of affairs in the Holy Scriptures as recorded in the book of Rev. 12:12 “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to inhabitants of the earth and of the sea for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

The above scripture explains why Satan, his demons and mermaid spirits are wide spread and rampad these days. In the above scripture we will discover that the devil knows that he has a short time left and he is therefore doing everything he can to hold as many souls as

“This knows also, that in last the days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, true breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those who are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God., having the form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

The devil is not ignorant of the time. He knows that we are in the last days and he has a very short time left.

During my time as the agent of the devil, he reminded us always that: “We had a short time left”. He also instructed us that we must work very hard to ensure that no Christian should make it to that place (Heaven). This is scriptural because one of Satan’s objectives is to withstand the Saints of God from serving him.

The Origin of Satan

For any subject study to be understood well its origin and the meaning must be traced. For you to understand who Satan is and find his origin, there are two questions that we must answer. (1) Has Satan been Satan from the beginning? (2) If not, when did he become Satan?

The answer to these questions can only be found in the word of God. The word of God says, “You were blamelss in your ways from the day you were created till Wickedness was found in you.” (Ez. 28:15).

Who is this who was blameless from the time he was created? It is none other than Lucifier as he is called in the Book of Isaiah 14:12 But in the NIV Bible he is mentioned by his other titles i.e. Morning star, son of dawn. (How you are taken from heaven morning star, son of the dawn).

Let us look at the meaning of his names (Titles). Lucifer means the shining one or the spangling one. This wonderful and beautiful name teaches us that God is perfect in his creation. He likes beautiful things and he will never create an imperfect thing. These verses show us that Satan was created a perfect and sinless being, contrary to what we are made to believe by some misguided people that Satan has always been Satan.

The Bible teaches that this being we know as Satan and normally drawn with a very terrifying face, long tail, horns and handles long ugly spade in his hands, was once in heaven before his fall. The book of Ezekiel describes how beautiful and perfect he was before sin was found in him.

In Ezekiel 28:12 the Bible says; “you were the model of perfection full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.” This description goes beyond the fleshly king of Tyre to a spiritual being. This being is none other but Lucifer. The scripture says that he was a MODEL of perfection amongst other created beings and he was the leading one showing other created spiritual beings the perfection of God. As the Bible commands us to be perfect as our heavenly father is, (Mathew 5:45), So was lucifer and those created beings i.e. angles.

He was not only a model of perfection but also full of the wisdom of God. The wisdom didn’t come from him but from God the creator and was manifested through him.

This Arch-Angle called lucifer was perfect in beauty. He was so smart that he was given a femanine title “beautiful” This title indicates the quality of God’s workmanship and how he adorned the angle.

His Garments

Ezekiel 28:13: “You were in Eden the garden of God, every precious stone adorned you Ruby, Topaz, and emerald, chrysodline, Onyx and Jasper, Sapphire, lurquoise and beryl. Your settings and mounting were made of Gold on the day you were created they were prepared.”

His dresses were made of very precious stones. You can imagine how glittering and flashy lucifer was before sin was found in him. Have you realized that these are some of the precious stones used to build the new Jerusalem? Our God is a God of beauty. He hates dirty things.

According to this verse there are two Edens, the one given to Adam as a home and God’s Eden which existed before the Eden of the Earth was build. Lucifer was in the Eden of God in heaven. “Your setting and mountings” this statement refers to instruments - The Musical instruments were made of Gold and had been prepared before lucifer was created. The meaning of this is that he was the chief musician who led other angles in singing praises and worshipping God.

His position among angles

Ezekiel 28:14, “You were anointed as a guardian Cherub, for I ordained you. You were on the Holy mountain of God you walked among the fiery stones.”

To properly know the position of lucifer before the fall, we must know who are Cherubims and the types of angels who are there. There are three Major groups of Angles. These are ordinary Angles who are Messangers, and worrior angles. These angles are mentioned in many books of the Bible. These are commonly known to majority of believers. The second group are the Seraphims. They are the least mentioned in the Bible. It is only founding the book of Isaiah 6:16. The word Seraphim means; ‘the burning ones or noble ones’ They normally attend to the Lord and have six wings. The difference between Cherubins and Seraphims is that the previous have four wings whereas the later have six.

Cherubims are the second to be mentioned in the Bible. They covered the Mercy seat (Exodus 25:18-20). They were embroided on the veil and on curtains (Exodus 26:31, 36:8) God put these type of Angles to guard the tree of life with a flaming sword in his hand. (Gen. 3:24)

The word Cherubim means “Those grasped or held fast” The Cherubim are symbolic of Gods holy presence and inapproachability. They are heavenly beings who guard and vindicate the righteousness of God (Gen. 3:24) Ex. 26:1, 31, 36:8, 35) the mercy of God (Ex 25:22, 37:9) and the government of God (1 Sam 4:4, Ps. 80:1, 99:1, Ez. 1:22, 26) in the Holy of Holies God’s glory dwelt between the Cherubim (Ps 80:1, Ez 25:10-22). It is commonly believed that the living creatures of Rev. 4 are Cherubims.

Therefore, with this knowledge at hand, we can conclude that Lucifer was among the most treasured angles. Moreover he was the guardian cherub Ezekiel 28:14. He was the leader of God’s special guards. These creatures have eyes above their wings and rims. Lucifer was specially honoured for he was in the Eden of God, he was on the holy mount of God, he walked among firery stones. He had special musical instruments and he was the most beautiful creature that God ever created (Ezekiel 10:12).

He remained in his position till wickedness was found in him, then he was cast down. Many are highly anointed and they do great unspeakable things for God then suddenly pride enters in them and they start thinking that it is because of them the word of God is spreading. Humble yourself dear one for God is able to do his work without you.

After the fall what next?

With all the beauty and position he had, lucifer became proud and desired and schemed to dethrone God. This planning managed to capture one third of angelic beings (Rev. 12:4) who joined Lucifer to rebel against his creator.

When Lucifer rebelled, God chose and appointed Michael to head the heavenly worriors against lucifer and his angles (Rev. 12:7-8) “……And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angles fought against the dragon and the dragon and his angles fought back. And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.”

In the duel that followed lucifer who lost first then and managed to get a new name that is Satan which means the adversary. This war is in two parts the past and the coming one where the Devil will be driven from the second heaven to the earth. When wickedness was found in lucifer which was fathered by pride. He planned to set up a kingdom of his own within the Kingdom of God. Just like the tiny Vatican State within the state of Italy. Please may we allow the Bible open the curtain to the reason of the war in heaven first war ever.

Isaiah 14:12 “How you have fallen from heaven morning star. Son of the dawn you have been cast down to the earth you who once laid low the nations.” The verse opens by an inquisitive statement “How you have” which means that he was not supposed to fall. But because of pride he fell (V. 13”) you said in your heart I will ascend to heaven” Though he was a guardian angel he was operating from somewhere below the heavens. Remember that the Bible doesn’t say when the heaven and the earth were created. Because he wanted to ascend to the heaven of God and be a leader in a place where there was a leader and the creator. In this war of course the devil lost and he was halt down from heaven the dwelling place of God. This enemy wanted to be above the stars of God and to set up his thrown on the mount assembly. On the sacred mountain the Northern side of the throne of God.

Rev. Dr. Pappachan Baby

Jesus Christ; the saviour of the world; came to this world according to many prophecies. Other than Jesus Christ no one had ever come to this world that have been fulfilled too many prophecies with absolute perfection. His birth, time of birth, place of birth, his life, his death, his resurrection, his ascension and his second coming as King were all written by many prophets before his birth.

Jesus Christ; the saviour of the world has not came into the world in secret. God Almighty has given many prophecies through his prophets lived in different centuries before he was sent to this world. “The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God” (Isa 52:10). As per the prophecies he came into the world and fulfilled the covenant which was impossible for men. He sacrifices his own life as a guilt offering and he poured his life until death, so that all the mankind will be saved through him.

The Holy Bible is a set of 66 small books of God’s plan of salvation to all mankind who are under the death by the sin of Adam. The Holy Bible is divided into two parts as old-testament and new-testament. The old-testament shows the events before Jesus Christ and the new-testament shows the life of Jesus Christ and further events. The new-testament is the fulfillment of the old-testament. All the verses written in the Holy Bible are the words of God; it was written by about 40 men in about 1600 years, dating from 1500 B.C. to about 100 A.D. These men wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2Pet 1:21). They wrote not in words of human wisdom but in words taught by the Holy Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words (1Cor 2:13).

Birth of Jesus Christ:

In the Book of Genesis chapter 3 God curse the serpent that when the offspring of woman comes; he will crush the head of serpent. “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel” (Gen 3:15). Here the word clearly means that for the cause, the devil deceived the women the God brought one offspring through the same women and caused him to crush head of the serpent. Here God did not say the offspring is of man. He only mentioned the name of women because of the born neither the natural descent, nor human decision or husband’s will, but born of God (John 1:13). He can only crush the head of serpent and save the mankind. “You will strike his heel” here the word meant: the serpent and his offspring will crucify the offspring of woman. About these two main events; i.e. the salvation of mankind and crucifixion of the saviour; God has already declared at the beginning of the creation of mankind.

For the fulfillment of these two main events; “When the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law” (Gal 4:4). “When the time had fully come” here the word meant: About the time that the Saviour Jesus Christ came into the world as per the heavenly time. It is meant that at the end of a time, another new time begins through Jesus Christ. We have to understand, when at the end of a time if did not begin a new time it would be the end of the world. The arrival of the Saviour Jesus Christ made grace for all the new generation to enter into a new time and with a new covenant for their salvation. Jesus Christ, the one who divides these times into two parts, and he stands at the middle of these two times. And also which guided to the world history and he stand in the middle of it, as B.C (Before Christ) & A.D. (After the death of Christ). This is the miracle and true of God that his Son Jesus Christ stands in the middle of the time of the world history and as the same as the time of the heavily. Hallelujah! In the world no one has born when the time had fully come!

When the time had fully come God has sent his Son into the world as a human being, for that he chosen Virgin Mary. “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” (Isa 7:14). In the time of B.C. 740 – 690 God declared this prophecy to all mankind through Prophet Isaiah.

Woman, who has no sexual experience with man, is “Virgin”. It is impossible that a “Virgin” gives birth. If the women has sexual experienced with men, she had lost her virginity. Then we should ask a question, how a virgin could give birth? The same question was with Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ. “How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? (Luk 1:34). The Angel answered to the question of Mary “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you” (Luk 1:35). Here the word is meant: Mary will give birth by the Holy Spirit; with the power of God Almighty. So, the child whom Mary gives birth will be a Holy one, and called the Son of God. “So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God” (Luk 1:35). A woman, who should be a virgin, then only the born, will be a Holy one. Jesus Christ is a holy one.

Thus, when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, who crushed the head of serpent at the Calvary cross. He came into the world in flesh as a human being, dwelled among us, died for our sin, and buried. On the third day raised up and now he is interceding for us at the right hand of Father Almighty God. “Christ Jesus, who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (Rom 8:34, Heb 10:12).

Ministry of Jesus Christ:

When we read the book of prophet Isaiah; it is mentioned that when the saviour of the world comes; in which surrounding places will be done his ministry; and what changes may it happened during his ministry. “Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honour Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan – The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned” (Isa 9:1-2). As per the prophecy; the same fulfillment has happened! “When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison; he returned to Galilee. Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali – to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah” (Mat 4:12-14). When the fulfillment was happened as the same; at the part of his ministry it is prophesied through the prophet Zechariah that he will ride to the Jerusalem on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey, and the inheritants of Jerusalem will rejoice greatly. “Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey” (Zec 9:9). It is fulfilled as the same! “The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel! Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written” (Joh 12:12-14).

Thus it was prophesied that through the prophet Isaiah, when the saviour of all mankind comes to the world, as the part of his ministry; He will open the eyes that are blind, will free captives from prison, and he will release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. “I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand, I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness” (Isa 42:6,7). It is fulfilled as the same! When we go through all the gospels in Bible, we can find the saviour Jesus Christ has done, as it is written! “When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah” (Mat 8:16), “Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet, and he healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking; the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel” (Mat 15:30, 31, Mat 20:29-34, Mar 1:32-34, Luk 4:40, 41, Joh 6:14). Here we should realize that the prophet whom God has sent as the saviour of the world would be done many miraculous. We can only find that is Jesus Christ. And also it is written about him, he will be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isa 9:6-7).

Oppression and Crucifixion of Jesus Christ:

As per the prophecy the saviour of the world will be taken away by oppression and crucify. Before the saviour Jesus Christ crucifies; it was written that he will be betrayed by one of his close friend. “Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me” (Psa 41:9). It was fulfilled as the same! “Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priest to betray Jesus to them” (Mar 14:10) When the prophecy fulfilled as the same, the prophet Zechariah prophesied that the saviour Jesus Christ will be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. And the one who had betrayed will become realize that he has sinned, finally he threw the money into the house of the LORD to the potter (Zec 11:12-13). It is fulfilled as the same! “Then one of the Twelve – the one called Judas Iscariot – went to the chief priests and asked, What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you? So they counted out for him thirty silver coins…When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. I have sinned, he said, for I have betrayed innocent blood. What is that to us? They replied. That is your responsibility. So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. The chief priests picked up the coins and……decided to use the money to buy the potter’s field” (Mat 26:15, 27:3-7).

Thus, the saviour of the world would be oppressed and some of them will spit on his face, some of them will beat on his back, some of them will mock the prophecies written by Isaiah. “I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting” (Isa 50:6). It is fulfilled as the same! “Then they spat in his face and struck him with their fists. Others slapped him and said, Prophesy to us, Christ. Who hit you? (Mat 26:67), “Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged” (Joh 19:1), “The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating him. They blindfolded him and demanded, Prophesy! Who hit you? And they said many other insulting things to him” (Luk 22:63-65). Then after that the saviour’s hand and feet will be pierced with nail, prophesy is written by David “Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me; they have pierced my hands and my feet” (Psa 22:16) It is fulfilled as the same! “It was the third hour when they crucified him” (Mar 15:25, Joh 20:25, 27). When David was prophesied this much about his crucifixion; the prophet Isaiah had prophesied “He poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors” (Isa 53:12) It is fulfilled as the same! “When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals one on his right, the other on his left” (Luk 23:33, Joh 19:18).

Then, the crucified saviour Jesus Christ has to be mocked and insulted, shaking their heads. “All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads: He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him” (Psa 22:7-8). It is fulfilled as the same! “Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!” (Mat 27:39-40) When the prophecies fulfilled the same, David prophesied again that they will give him gall for his thirst “They put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst” (Psa 69:21) It is fulfilled as the same! “They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull) There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it” Mat (27:33) When it is fulfilled the same David prophesied even about his bones “He protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken” (Psa 34:20) It is fulfilled as the same! “The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other, But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs” (Joh 19:32). When fulfilled the same; David prophesied that after crucifixion they will divide the saviour’s garments and cast lots for his clothing “They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing” (Psa 22:18) It is fulfilled as the same! “And they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots to see what each would get” (Mar 15:24) Thus the oppression and crucifies of Jesus Christ have fulfilled the same as the prophecies.

Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ:

God had already signified about the World Saviour Jesus Christ’s Death, Burial and Resurrection through his prophets. Isaiah prophesied “He was assigned a grave with the wicked and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand” (Isa 53:9-10) In this two versions itself it is very clearly signified about the Jesus Christ Crucifies, Death, Burial and Resurrection. “He was assigned a grave with the wicked and with the rich in his death” it clarifies that: He will be crucified with the wicked; but his burial will be as a royal by rich. It is fulfilled as the same! “Two robbers were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left” (Mat 27:38), as the same was his burial royally by rich, accordance with Jews Burial customs. “Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jews. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away. He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds. Taking Jesus body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jews Burial customs. At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no-one had ever been laid. Because it was the Jews day of Preparation and since the tomb was near by, they laid Jesus there” (Joh 19:38-42, Joh 3:1, 10, Mat 27:57, Mar 15:42). Thus fulfilled prophesy told by prophet Isaiah. “LORD makes his (Jesus) life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days” through this version; here signifies mainly two things: 1. His death - that will be a guilt offering. 2. His risen - that will be an eternity life and will see his offspring (believers). It is fulfilled as the same! “Jesus called out with a loud voice, Father; into your hands I commit my spirit. When he had said this, he breathed his last” (Luk 23:46). Thus about his risen! “The angel said to the women; do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay” (Mat 28:56). Through the word of God (Bible) we learned many of prophesies and its fulfillment, about Jesus Christ that he has crucified, dead, buried, and risen. After his risen, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God (Act 1:3). And he was taken up before their very eyes as per prophesy.

And also about the ascension of Jesus Christ, the servant David has already prophesied; “When you ascended on high, you led captives in your train, you received gifts from men, even from the rebellious – that you, O LORD God, might dwell there” (Psa 68:18) It is fulfilled as the same! “When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven” (Luk 24:50-51). Thus fulfilled all the prophecies said by the prophets about Jesus Christ, the saviour of the world.

In the Holy Bible we can find there are many prophesies said by many prophets about Jesus Christ; some of them I would like to state here under with reference:

Rev. Dr. Pappachan Baby

The statement mentioned in the fifth chapter of Daniel, that the King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his nobles, his wives and his concubines. While they were enjoying in the feast, suddenly, the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lamp stand in the royal palace. The king watched the hand as it wrote, He was disturbed and asked for someone to interpret the writing. Daniel was found and gave the interpretation. After the interpretation, “Then at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck, and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom” (Daniel 5:29).

According to the Babylonian records, the last king of Babylon was not Belshazzar, but a man named Nabonidas. There was no record in the name of Belshazzar, so the Babylonians began to say that the Bible is error. But, later the historians found the Babylonian records were wrong! This news only gave advantage to the enemies who spread the wrong news around. The Bible had never changed. The Bible statements are clear and truth!!!

In 1853, the spades of archeologists an inscription found in a cornerstone of a temple built by Nabonidas, to the god Ur, which read: “May I, Nabonidas, king of Babylon, not sin against thee. And may reverence for thee dwell in the heart of Belshazzar, my first-born favorite son.” From other inscriptions, it was learnt that Belshazzar and Nabonidas were co-regents. Nabonidas traveled while Belshazzar stayed home to run the kingdom. Now that we know that Belshazzar and Nabonidas were co-regents, it makes sense that Belshazzar was the last king of Babylon and would say that Daniel would be the third ruler. What a marvelous nugget of truth tucked away in the Word of God!!!

Bible is a trustworthy and deserves full acceptance! The Bible is unique among books. And is a written history of God’s saving grace. It declares itself to be written by God, the Creator of the universe. And there is incredible unity to the Bible. The Bible is one book, and yet it is made up of 66 books. This is not a book of the month, but the book of the ages. This all-powerful God used 40 inspired authors to pen the Scriptures over the course of 1600 years, in 13 different countries and on three different continents.

Bible is God’s written revelation to man and that it is inspired, authoritative and Holy Spirit breathed written Word of God (2Tim 3:16)

The word of the LORD is right and truth; trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, He is faithful in all he does (Psa 33:4, 1Thi 4:9, Psa 111:8)

Man Born again, through the living and enduring word of God (1Peter 1:23)

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12)

No book has ever had as much opposition as the Bible. Men have laughed at it, scorned it, burned it, ridiculed it, and made laws against it. But the Word of God has survived. This is the living and enduring word of God. And it is applicable today as much as it was yesterday and will be tomorrow. “But the word of the Lord stands for ever” (1Peter 1:25).

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands for ever (Isaiah 40:8)

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35)

It’s so majestically deep that scholars could swim and never touch the bottom. Yet so wonderfully shallow that a little child could come and get a drink of water without fear of drowning. That is God’s precious, holy Word. Amen!

"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book" (Revelation 22:18-19)

Therefore, I urge you all to accept only the Bible written by His Prophets and Apostles, which contains 66 books from Genesis to Revelation. If anyone (any denominational church, group, society) adds anything to it, or takes words away, it will leads to above-mentioned condemnation.

Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the Cross as a sacrifice of atonement!

(Matthew 27:27-56, Mark 15:21-38, Luke 23:26-49, and John 19:16-37)

Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross for all humankind, because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins (Heb 10:4)! Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (Heb 9:22)! Finally, Jesus Christ who fulfilled the will of God and shed his own blood on the Calvary cross, paid the penalty for our sins (Joh 1:29). The word of God, very clearly declares through all these verses that Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the Cross! “Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (Rom 8:34, 1Cor 15:3-8, 5:7, Act 2:22-24, 3:15, 13:28-31, Heb 10:12-13, 1 Peter 3:18)

The Blood of Jesus Christ!

“God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood, He did this to demonstrate his justice” (Rom 3:25, Heb 2:14-15, Gal 3:1, 1Joh 4:10, Rev 5:9, 11:8, 12:11)

Trust in the blood of Jesus Christ. “…The blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” (1Joh 1:7, 1Pet 1:18-19, Isaiah 1:18) Jesus Christ declares himself about His crucifixion and death!

“For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” (Matthew 12:40)

“From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life” (Matthew16:21, 20:17-19, 28, 26:2, 32)

“He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again” (Mark 8:31, 10:33-34, 14:28)

“And he said, The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life” (Luke 9:22, 18:32-33, 24:44-47)

“But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself. He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die” (John 12:32-33)

About Jesus Christ declaration, His enemies disclosed it to Pilate!

“The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. Sir, they said, we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, after three days I will rise again. So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day” (Mat 27:62-64)

Jesus Christ Crucifixion was at the presence of all those who knew him!

“But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things” (Luk 23:49, Mat 27:55-56, Mark 15:40-41, Joh 19:25)

At the time of Crucifixion Jesus Christ talks to His Mother and Disciple!

“Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, Dear woman, here is your son, and to the disciple, Here is your mother. From that time on, this disciple took her into his home” (Joh 19:25-27)

The burial of Jesus Christ was done by His Mother and Disciple!

“As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus, Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary (Mother) were sitting there opposite the tomb” (Matt 27:57-61, Mark 15:42-47, Luke 23:50-56, John 19:38-42)

The Old Testaments Prophecies about Jesus Christ crucifixion and death!

The Old Testaments prophets foretold the death of Christ. The Lord was to be pierced (Psa 22:16, Zech 12:10), led as a lamb to the slaughter (Isa 53:7), slain as the Passover victim (Ex 12:1ff, cf. 1 Cor 5:7), and enter into Sheol (Psa 16:10, cf. Acts 2:22-32) — the realm of the dead.

“Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors” (Isa 53:12, 50:6, 53:8-10, Psa 22:7-8, 22:15-16, Zech 12:10, Gen 3:15)

Daniel Prophecy:

Each of the last three verses of the Daniel 9:24-27 prophecy foretold events that were to take place relative to both Jerusalem and the Messiah. Daniel 9:25 foretold the very year He would be anointed and become the Messiah, which occurred exactly as prophesied, in A.D. 27. Daniel 9:26 foretold that "after the sixty-two weeks (i.e., sometime after 27 A.D), Messiah shall be cut off" (put to death). Daniel 9:27 prophesied about the last seven years of the 490 year prophecy, the seven years after 27 A.D, and it explicitly states that "in the middle of the week (the middle of the final 7 years of the prophecy), He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering." These phrases–"cut off" and "bring an end to sacrifice and offering"–are direct references to Jesus' death. The "Messiah shall be cut off," put to death, and "bring an end to" the lamb sacrificial system of the Old Testament, "in the middle of" the final 7 years of this prophecy, or three and a half years after 27 A.D, which would be 31 A.D.–the very year Biblical scholars and chronologists have determined that Jesus was crucified!

The exact year of the death of no other person in history has been foretold like this. By foretelling over 500 years in advance of the very years that the world's Messiah would be anointed for His saving mission and then die, God provided important evidence to sincere, honest-in-heart seekers that Jesus was indeed the Messiah of God, the One to whom we must look for salvation and hope.

But far more important than the year Jesus died is the meaning of His death. And that also has been revealed in this spectacular prophecy.

Secular History confirms that the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ!

(Circa AD 52) Tallus was a secular historian who wrote a history of the Eastern Mediterranean from the Trojan War to his own time. The document no longer exists but it was quoted by other writers like the Christian, Julius Africanus, who wrote around AD221. He quotes Tallus' comments about the darkness that enveloped the land during the late afaternoon hours when Jesus died on the cross. Julius wrote: Tallus, in the third book of his histories, explains away this darkness as an eclipse of the sun'unreasonably, as it seems to me (unreasonably of course, because a solar eclipse could not take place at the time of the full moon, and it was at the season of the Paschal full moon that Christ died." Julius Africanus, Chronography, 18.1 The importance of Tallus' comments is that the reference shows that the Gospel account of the darkness that fell across the earth during Christ's crucifixion was well known and required a naturalistic explanation from non-Christians.

Josephus Ben Mattathias:

(37-100 AD), (also known as Flavius Josephus): Jewish priest, general and historian. He wrote two great works of Jewish history: The Jewish War, written in the early 70's and Jewish Antiquities, which was finished about AD 94. In his work, Jewish Antiquities, there is a passage that has created heated debate among scholars for many decades: "Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. He was the Christ, and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men among us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day; as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians so named from him are not extinct at this day." Antiquities, XVIII, 33

Cornelius Tacitus:

(55-120 AD) Roman historian: Most acclaimed works are the Annals and the Histories. The Annals cover the period from Augustus Caesar's death in AD14 to the death of the Emperor Nero in AD68, while the Histories begin after Nero's death and proceed to the reign of Domitian in AD96. In the Annals, Tacitus alludes to the death of Christ and to the existence of Christians at Rome. See Annals XV,44: But not all the relief that could come from man, not all the bounties that the prince could bestow nor all the atonements which could be presented to the gods, availed to relieve Nero from the infamy of being believed to have ordered the conflagration, the fire of Rome. Hence to suppress the rumor, he falsely charged with the guilt, and punished with most exquisite tortures, the persons commonly called Christians, who were hated for their enormities. Christus, the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius: but the pernicious superstition, repressed for a time, broke out again, not only through Judea, where the mischief originated, but through the city of Rome also." (The misspelling of Christ as "Christus" was a common error made by pagan writers). It is interesting that Pilate is not mentioned in any other pagan document which has survived. It is an irony of history that the only surviving reference to him in a pagan document mentions him because of the sentence of death he passed on Jesus the Messiah.

Phlegon wrote a history called Chronicles. Phlegon also comments on the darkness at the time of Christ's crucifixion: "During the time of Tiberius Caesar an eclipse of the sun occurred during the full moon." Julius Africanus, Chronography, 18.1 (The 3rd century Christian apologist Origen also references Phlegon's record of this event in his work Celsum, 2.14,33,59 as does the 6th century writer Philopon (De.opif.mund. II, 21).

Babylonian Talmud:

(Completed in the 6th Century A.D) The Babylonian Talmud is a Rabbinic commentary of the Jewish scriptures (Tanach: Old Testament). They are a look into what is a hostile source was saying about Jesus. They could not deny the miracles but claimed that it was sorcery rather than admit to what was a known fact. “On the eve of the Passover Yeshu was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, “He is going forth to be stoned because He has practiced sorcery (an admission of his miracles) and enticed Israel to apostasy. Any one who can say anything in his favor let him come forward and plead on his behalf. But since nothing was brought forward in his favor he was hanged on the even of the Passover.” The Babylonian Talmud, vol. III, Sanhedrin 43a

(120-180 A.D) A Greek satirist that spoke scornfully of Christ and Christians, affirming that they were real and historical people, never saying that they were fictional characters. “The Christians, you know, worship a man to this day at the distinguished personage who introduced their novel rites, and was crucified on that account….You see, these misguided creatures start with the general conviction that they are immortal for all time, which explains the contempt of death and voluntary self-devotion which are so common among them; and then it was impressed on them by their original lawgiver that they are all brothers, from the moment that they are converted, and deny the gods of Greece, and worship the crucified sage, and live after his laws. All this they take quite on faith, with the result that they despise all worldly goods alike, regarding them merely as common property.” Lucian, The Death of Peregrine. 11-13.

Letter of Mara Barsarapion:

(73 A.D) Mara Bar-Serapion was a Syrian who lived in the first century A.D. He wrote a letter to his son Serapion that mentions the Jews who killed their King. The letter is now in the possession of the British Museum. “What benefit did the Athenians obtain by putting Socrates to death? Famine and plague came upon them as judgment for their crime. Or, the people of Samos for burning Pythagoras? In one moment their country was covered with sand. Or the Jews by murdering their wise king?…After that their kingdom was abolished. God rightly avenged these men…The wise king…Lived on in the teachings he enacted.”

Toledoth Yeshu:

(6 Century) This is a derogatory version of the life of Jesus, growing out of the response of the Jewish community to Christianity. The tradition presented here is most commonly dated to approximately the 6th century CE. The text it self is closer to the 14th century. Mentions the empty tomb and that the Jewish leaders found it empty. That Jesus was crucified on the eve of the Passover and that He claimed to be God. That Jesus performed sorcery, he healed, and that he taught Rabbis. All of this from a hostile source, with the references above it is a historical fact that Jesus did miracles. His enemies could not refute it, rather they explained it away as sorcery!

Julian the Apostate:

(332-363 A.D) Emperor of Rome mentions the Gospels, miracles and other facts about Jesus. Julian had struggled to end the power of Christians in the Roman Empire. Since the day fifty years earlier that Constantine conquered in the sign of the cross, Christian influence had steadily grown. As Julian lay dying from a mortal wound he made the following remark: “As he bled, the dying emperor groaned, “You have conquered, O Galilean,” referring to Jesus Christ.

(138-161 A.D) Aristides was a second-century Christian believer and philosopher from Athens. This portion of his defense of Christianity was addressed to the Roman Emperor Antonius Pius, who reigned from 138-161 A.D. “The Son of the most high God, revealed by the Holy Spirit, descended from heaven, born of a Hebrew Virgin. His flesh he received from the Virgin, and he revealed himself in the human nature as the Son of God. In his goodness which brought the glad tidings, he has won the whole world by his life-giving preaching…He selected twelve apostles and taught the whole world by his mediatorial, light-giving truth. And he was crucified, being pierced with nails by the Jews; and he rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. He sent the apostles into all the world and instructed all by divine miracles full of wisdom. Their preaching bears blossoms and fruits to this day, and calls the whole world to illumination.” Carey, “Aristides,” 68.

Roman historian and court official during the reign of the Emperor Hadrian. Suetonius wrote in his Life of Claudius: "As the Jews were making constant disturbances at the instigation of Chrestus, he expelled them from Rome." (Life of Claudius 25.4). Chrestus is a misspelling of Christus; the spelling probably assumes that the spelling of Jesus' title "Christos" was the same as ate ChiRho symbol which was also a literary device which indicated a quote worthy of note = the 'chrestus" symbol. Claudius' expulsion of the Christians form Rome is mentioned in Acts 18:2. This event took place in 49AD. In his work Lives of the Caesars, Suetonius also wrote: "Punishment by Nero was inflicted on the Christians, a class of men given to a new and mischievous superstition." Assuming Jesus was crucified in the early thirties, Suetonius places Christians in the Roman capital less than 20 years later and he reports that they were suffering for their faith and dying for their conviction that Jesus had really lived, died and that He had risen from the dead!

Justin Martyr:

(106-167 A.D) Justin Martyr is regarded as one of the greatest early Christian apologists. He was born around 100 A.D and was beheaded for his faith in Jesus in 167 A.D. He mentions as facts many things about Jesus Christ and Christianity, such as: The Magi (wise men who brought gifts from Arabia), King Herod, His crucifixion, His garments parted among the Roman soldiers, the apostles leaving him on the night of his arrest, his fulfilled prophecies, His resurrection and His ascending into heaven among many others. These quotes can be found in his debate with Trypho the Jew.

Epistle of Barnabas:

(130-38 A.D), Mentions the Resurrection, miracles, content of the Gospels and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Clement of Rome:

(100 A.D) Clement affirms the Resurrection, Gospels and that Jesus was sent to earth by God to take away our sins. “Clement was the fourth bishop of Rome, the first being Peter. Did he know Peter and Paul? It is completely possible that those two Spirit-filled men taught him. Clement even wrote a letter to the Corinthian church that echoed the teachings of the apostles”

Think about B.C. & A.D.! Who stands between these two times!

Dear Friends, believe, crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His death on the Cross as a sacrifice of atonement is absolutely true. Jesus Christ is the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE. No-one enters to the Heaven except through him. He is the ONE only came from heaven into this world to be the saviour of the world! (John 3:16-17, 36, 10:9, 14:6, 1Joh 4:14, 1Timo 1:15, Acts 4:12, Rom 10:4, 1Cor 3:11). How shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation??? (Heb 2:3-4)

Let us introduce ourselves to this fascinating and intensely important subject by turning to a prophecy in the book of Daniel. This prophecy spoken by an angel gives in one sentence an illuminating picture of the character of events at the end of the age, just before Christ returns. The prophecy indicates that at the end-time, there will be an unprecedented increase in human knowledge. Second, there will be a startling increase in travel upon the earth. These developments, the angel would have us to understand, will be key signs in discerning the approach of the end of the age.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” (Dan. 12:4).

It is commonly known that during most of the history of the world, human knowledge has increased comparatively slowly. The invention of the printing press a few centuries ago made the wide dissemination of knowledge possible. Only during the last century, however, as a result of technological advances have most of the inventions we enjoy today been perfected. Our grandfathers, as boys, traveled about in carriages in much the fashion as Pharaoh did 3,500 years ago. A man in his nineties today can remember when there was no automobile, no tele-phone, no electric light, no phonograph, no radio, no television. At that time the industrial revolution had just begun.

With the turn of the century came the invention of the airplane. Radio and television, as well as many other electronic devices we now take for granted, are also wonders of the twentieth century. By means of these two inventions, a speaker is potentially able to address the entire world.

Climaxing the series of discoveries has been the revelation of man’s ability to harness the atom. This astonishing development was made known to the world in the atomic cataclysm at Hiroshima. Because of world conditions being what they are, atomic power continues to be developed for purposes of mass destruction. Apparently it is a discovery to end all discoveries.

We shall not take time to further delineate this tremendous expansion of human knowledge, save to reemphasize its prophetic significance. The angel implied the great increase in human knowledge would be a sign of the time of the end.

“The chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of His preparation …the chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall jostle one against another in the broad ways; they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightning” (Nahum 2:3,4).

Here is one of the most remarkable prophecies of the Bible. This prophetic foreview of the automobile is so detailed it can hardly be misunderstood. These strange vehicles that Nahum saw in his vision were as flaming torches-an allusion, obviously, to the brilliant lights of today’s automobiles. The raging in the streets is an apt expression describing the traffic which roars down the arteries of our great cities-traffic which has increased in intensity until it has become a menace to life and limb. To keep the cities from strangling in their own traffic, municipal governments have been forced to build giant freeways and expressways.

Finally, the prophecy adds, “They shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.” Most of the cars being manufactured today have had their power stepped up until they can make a hundred miles an hour, or over. Streaming down the highways at night at high speeds, they seemed in the vision to the prophet who was used to camel transportation, to be moving like the lightnings.

But the most significant part of the prophecy is the time element. The vision was to be fulfilled “in the day of his preparation.” In other words, at the time when the Lord would be preparing His returns on the earth, these things should come to pass. The development of the automobile as we see it today is a fulfillment of Nahum’s vision and a certain sign of the coming of the Lord.

Not until about 1875 did men dream of the possibility of sending music and pictures by means of electromagnetic waves through space at the speed of light. Such waves are similar to those which come from a bolt of lightning, producing static in a radio set. God intimated to one of the prophets, Job, that He had such knowledge. In Job 38:35 the Lord said, “Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?”

There is an interesting prophecy in this connection in Revelation 11. At the end-time the Beast, or Antichrist, will overcome and kill the Two Witnesses, whom God will send to warm the people against this evil ruler. Then the Beast will permit their dead bodies to lie in the streets of Jerusalem. Note the significant statement which follows in Revelation 11:9: “And they of the peoples and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and a half, and shall not permit their dead bodies to be put in graves.” The implication is that people of many nations will be able to view the scene at Jerusalem. It is difficult to see how the literal fulfillment of this prophecy could take place except by means of television. It is interesting to note that as time goes on the prophecies which once were thought to be only figurative in meaning are being fulfilled literally.

It is clear that the Beast, who represents Satan, at the end-time is to secure control over a considerable portion of the earth. Television has become a powerful means by which a personality may impress and dominate vast numbers of people. The fact that television is now an important factor in the daily lives of great numbers of people is one more indication the time of the end is at hand.

The impact on history which atomic energy has made was little anticipated. The great scientist Albert Einstein first predicted the possibilities of the atom in 1905 when he worked out the mathematical formula which forecast its incredible power. By the time World War 2 broke in its fury, scientists had mastered the secrets of atomic chain reaction. Only when announcement came of the atomic destruction in Hiroshima, Japan, did the public learn anything about it. Atomic power was definitely anticipated in prophecy.

“The powers of the heavens shall be shaken!” Notice the word heavens is translated from the Greek word Ouranos. If we leave the original Greek word in the sentence, we have, “The powers of Ouranos shall be shaken.” When the Beast “maketh fire to come down from Ouranos in the sight of men,” what prophetic fulfillment could this be if not the making of “fire come down” out of uranium? (Rev. 13:13). Uranium is the element from which the atomic bomb is made! Jesus speaking of the signs of the end of the age said in Luke 21:26: “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”

There may be even a deeper meaning, but certainly the power of the atomic bomb involves as great, if not a greater potential power of destruction, than any anticipated by prophetic students in the fulfillment of Revelation 13:13.

The Scriptures make it clear that atomic destruction will not be permitted to proceed to the point where civilization will be wiped out. Great areas of the earth may be desolated, but God will restrain men from being completely destroyed. The Millennium will bring to the earth a thousand years of peace. After that, “the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with a fervent heat, the earth also and the works therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness…?” (2 Peter 3:10, 11).

When Jesus told about events to take place just before His return to earth, He mentioned one circumstance that seemed utterly unbelievable. Speaking of the Great Tribulation which is to come upon the world shortly, He said, “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened” (Matt. 24:21, 22).

Until a few years ago the fulfillment of such a prophecy seemed so remote as to make what Jesus said appear to be absurd. Even during World War 2, the population of the earth increased faster than the horrors of war could deplete it. What fantastic development could occur which would endanger the life of every person living on the face of the earth?

Then suddenly there came the news of the atomic bomb. More lives were lost in Hiroshima in that fateful fraction of a second than all the losses of many of the largest wars in history.

Atomic power ushered in a new age, and it seemed the powers of destruction had reached their absolute limit. But within a few years the A-bomb of the type used at Hiroshima was out of date. Next came the announcement of the hydrogen bomb with no limit to its potential power to destroy. One hydrogen bomb could utterly annihilate life in such great cities as Paris or New York. In creating this monster, men had discovered the secret of the power of the sun itself. Hydrogen bombs might be increased in power until they could tear through the crust of the earth! The horrible spectre of race suicide appears possible within the foreseeable future. The full truth of the words of Jesus now stands revealed. If time should go on, except for divine intervention, every person living would die, and the earth would be reduced to utter desolation. Fortunately, however, God will not permit this to happen. For Christ will come before this takes place. In fact, these things are a sure sign of the extreme nearness of His Coming.

“And great earthquakes shall be in divers places” (Luke 21:11).

The general increase of destructive earthquakes had been one of the most notable phenomenon of the past five hundred years. Records for the past five hundred years show a steady increase of these terrestrial convulsions. While it is true that there are many more villages and towns to destroy with each new century and also more accurate records, there is no doubt that destructive effects from earthquakes have been on the rise. Statistics of this increase are as follows:

Fifteenth Century 115

Sixteenth Century 253

Seventeenth Century 378

Eighteenth Century 640

Nineteenth Century 2,119

Twentieth Century 18,564

In recent years the number and the severity of annihilative earthquakes have greatly increased. Within this century the most disastrous earthquakes of history have taken place. On April 18, 1906, an earthquake shook San Francisco, California, and practically destroyed the city. Two years later in 1908, some 75,000 persons perished in the Messina, Italy, quake. On January 13, 1920, over 180,000 lost their lives in Kansu, China. In 1923 a terrible quake almost destroyed the city of Tokyo, with 143,000 persons dying in the great catastrophe. Since then earthquakes in India, Turkey, America, South America, Greece, and other countries have increased the toll taken by these powerful earth tremors.

On the average, each year there are:

1 great earthquake

10 major earthquakes

100 destructive shocks

1,000 damaging shocks

10,000 minor strong shocks

100,000 minor shocks

If all of the shocks were included there would probably be one million in a year! Nature itself seems to be writhing under the pressure of invisible and sinister forces.

Jesus said there would be earthquakes in various places. The tremendous increase of this terrestrial phenomenon would indicate the world is drawing near the vortex of a great dispensational crisis.

“There shall be signs…upon the earth distress of nations…the sea and the waves roaring” (Luke 21:25).

The words of Jesus concerning the roaring of the seas obviously is an expression indicating that at the end-time the seas would cross over their bounds. This is what occurred in the 1953 disaster in Holland. All the accumulated knowledge of engineering had been put to use to create a series of great dikes which would prevent the ocean from breaking through. But to no avail. Early in the year there appeared an unprecedented combination of the forces of nature operating in the North Atlantic. Winds of terrific velocity bore down upon the coast of England and the low countries, carrying with them waves of great size and violence. At the same time the spring tides were at their greatest height. This combination of circumstances produced a wall of water that rushed over the protective dikes inundating one sixth of the nation. Thousands lost their lives; multitudes were made homeless, not to speak of the enormous loss of property. Never before had there been anything like it since the Middle Ages. In those days, of course, the dikes were not nearly so strong.

Other events of this nature are yet to come. Revelation 8:8, 9 speaks of a great mountain falling into the sea. According to the prophecy, one third of all ships in the sea will be destroyed. Such a tidal wave would take a fearful toll on all harbors of the world. “The sea and waves roaring,” indicates the time of Christ’s coming cannot be far off.

The scientific world today is baffled by one of the most amazing mysteries of history. For many years reports have poured in from numerous sources all over the world of strange objects appearing in the heavens-objects which apparently have power to move at incredible speeds and which in other ways distinguish themselves as being something distinctly different from any aircraft known by the inhabitants of the earth. For want of a better name, and also because the name roughly suggests their general appearance, these objects have been called flying saucers; more recently they are referred to as Unidentified Flying Objects.

Some of these objects have been identified as known objects; however, a large number of them, according to military intelligence, have never been explained.

Attempts have been made to solve the mystery of the UFOs by saying they are the result of mass suggestion or the product of over-stimulated imaginations. In some cases, of course, people have mistaken hot-air balloons and other such objects for UFOs. Allowing for such cases, the Air Force admits there are still many sightings which cannot be contributed to the above causes nor to natural phenomena, such as mirages or atmospheric inversions.

The only answer to the mystery of the UFOs is that they are of supernatural origin. Jesus, in referring to end-time events said, “There shall be…fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven” (Luke 21:11). There is no doubt these UFOs are of prophetic significance.

Human flight is a comparatively recent innovation. On December 3, 1903, the Wright Brothers made their historic flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Since then tremendous strides have been made. The speed of commercial air travel has been increased to over 600 miles per hour. The Tupolev Tu 144 travels at a staggering 1,550 miles per hour. Rocket flight has flown man at the speed of a cannonball. To achieve enough velocity to escape Earth’s atmosphere, a spacecraft must travel 25,000 miles per hour! That same craft, in order to stay in orbit 200 miles above the earth, must maintain a speed of 17,000 miles per hour!

That man would some day fly was foreseen in the Scriptures, and the prophecy which speaks of it has a most remarkable setting-one involving the defense of the city of Jerusalem. The passage reads: “As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem: defending also He will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it” (Isa. 31:5).

In 1917, when the British under General Allenby came up from Egypt to contest possession of the Holy Land, the Turks were determined to defend Jerusalem to the last man. Allenby, a devout Christian, desired that Jerusalem would be spared the horrors of a siege. He did not wish this sacred and historic city to be damaged by shelling. He knelt in his tent and prayed that God would make the battle unnecessary. The next day he sent his scouting planes over the city. Many of the Turks had never seen a plane. The Turks quickly evacuated the city, leaving without firing a shot. Thus, in a literal way, the Lord defended Jerusalem as with birds flying-by airplane.

It is to be noticed in the Book of Revelation that the last plague is to be poured out into the air, resulting in the fall of “the cities of the nations” (Rev. 16:19). What is this if not atomic destruction from the air?

The invention and developed of the airplane is one more sign of the nearness of the day Jesus returns!

“And they (the Jews) shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled” (Luke 21:24).

This statement, made in A.D. 30, provides one of the greatest demonstrations of the authenticity of the claims of Christ. Jesus declared Himself the Son of God (John 10:36). The Jewish rulers would not believe this and prepared to put Him to death. Jesus then straightly foretold the judgment which was to come upon the city of Jerusalem and its people for their rejection of Him. No lucky guess could foretell events for nearly 2,000 years in the future. But the fact that Jesus did, showed that He spoke by the Spirit of God, and the passing centuries have revealed the accuracy of His words.

How truly the predictions of Christ were fulfilled! Forty years after He died on the Cross, the Romans encircled Jerusalem with their armies. The city was taken, burned, and the people led captive into all nations (Luke 21:20-24)

But the casting away of the Jews, as Paul wrote in Romans 11, was not to be forever. The Jews would go into age-long dispersion, until the “fullness of the Gentiles was come in” (Romans 11:25). The fact that the word until is used in the statement that “Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled,” indicates there would be a time when Jerusalem would no longer be trodden down, and the Jews would no longer be dispersed among the nations. They would return to their homeland. And indeed, this is taking place today. Therefore, we know that the times of the gentiles (the name gentiles represents all peoples except the Jews) have run their course.

It is interesting to note that some disputed the possibility the Jews would ever achieve statehood. But since May, 1948, this has been an established fact. Nevertheless, the Jews in their homeland, as Jesus plainly foretold, are in for further judgment, because they have returned in unbelief (Matt. 24:15-22).

“When the Lord shall build up Zion he shall appear in His glory” (Psa. 102:16). At the time Jesus was about to give His life, having been rejected by the nation Israel, He made the prediction that judgment was coming on the city of Jerusalem. Because the people had rejected their king, the city was to be given into the hands of the gentiles, and they should tread it down until their times should be fulfilled or completed. In A.D. 70 the armies of Titus surrounded the city. The Jews, buoyed up by false prophets, maintained a false hope that the city would be delivered by divine intervention. They fanatically resisted, but the Jewish metropolis fell, was burned by fire, and the people turned into captivity.

In the centuries following, the city was rebuilt at various times, only to suffer again and again under a similar fate. Romans, Arabs, Turks in turn overran the city. But when General Allenby took it, it became a homeland for the Jews.

In the early fifties the Arab part of the city inside the old walls was completely occupied. Therefore, the Jews found it necessary to build north of the old city. Many beautiful and modern building have risen in the Jewish section.

Most significant is the fact that the new lines of the city follow exactly those predicted by prophecy in Jeremiah 31:38-40). How did Jeremiah, who lived over 2,500 years ago, know this would happen? The only answer is that he was inspired of God. Most significant of all is the fact that God said when He “shall build up Zion (which represents Jerusalem), he shall appear in His glory.” This remarkable fulfillment of prophecy is another certain proof that the day of Christ’s Coming in glory is at hand!

“…The waste place shall be builded. And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by. And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the Garden of Eden” (Ezek. 36:33-35).

Ezekiel 36, 37 and 38 deal with events which take place at the Coming of Christ. These chapters tell of the outpouring of the Spirit to come upon Israel, and the unsuccessful attempt of the hordes of the North to invade and subjugate Palestine. Chapter 36 speaks of the restoration of the land which has laid waste so many centuries.

The desolation to come upon the land of Israel because of the disobedience of the nation was foretold by the prophet Moses and others. The backsliding of the nation and its crowning act of apostasy in rejecting the Messiah was followed by the destruction of Jerusalem and other cities of the nation, and the condemnation of the race to age-long dispersion throughout the world.

Then followed centuries of desolation as foretold by prophecy. The heel of the Moslem and the Turk blighted the land. There was a dearth of rainfall as the desert gradually encroached on land which had once nourished many flourishing cities. The Turks placed a tax on the trees, and because the Bedouins hated any kind of tax, they cut down the trees. Travelers viewing the land were appalled by the desolation.

In 1917 Palestine was liberated from the long centuries of Mohammedan oppression, and the Jews were permitted to return to their homeland. Immediately a great change began. Millions of trees were planted. The waste swamps were drained. Through hard intensive labor the land was brought back from its desolation state, and a rapid transformation began. Roads were built; modern machinery was imported. As the trees began to grow, they effected a change of climate. Villages and communal settlements sprang up in many places. Jewish population has now topped the four million mark, their armies strong enough to hurl back the invading Arab battalions which contested their right to national independence. Much is yet to be done, but certainly the prophecy made centuries ago is being startlingly fulfilled. Its fulfillment is a certain sign that the time of the end is at hand. The return of Israel’s King is at the door.

Russia’s place in prophecy has long been recognized by Bible students. There is no prophetic subject on which there is closer agreement. Ezekiel 38 and 39 foretell Rosh as a great power, which with her satellites will challenge the land of Israel in the last days. Prophetic writers more than a century ago wrote of this great Northern Confederacy, which would include Russia. All agree that Communism is the fulfillment. This evil philosophy was spawned in World War 1. It has emerged a fearful power, dominating much of the world as the aftermath of World War 2. Today, 16 nations have Communist-controlled governments, and 90 countries have Communist parties.

Russia is identified as the Rosh of the prophecy. The word Rosh means chief, or bear, the symbol of this nation. It is said to be “The chief prince of Meshech and Tubal,” and to come out of the “north parts” (Ezek. 38:2,3,15): A glance at the map shows Russia to be north of Palestine and the one real northern power threat to that country at this time.

When Rosh makes its great invasion south, it will clash in a life and death struggle with the United States and Great Britain.

“Sheba and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? Hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?”

“Sheba and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof,” appear to be none other than Great Britain (symbolized by a lion) and her commonwealth of nations, including the United States, which originally was colonized by the English. These are the only countries which could possibly challenge the power of the great bear. The appearance of Russia on the world scene ready to challenge the world is a fulfillment of prophecy too plain to be ignored. It is certainly a sign that the final events of this age are on the eve of fulfillment.

One of the great signs marking the end of the age involves Rosh (Russia) in its plans to march south to Palestine. This event was clearly prophesied in Ezekiel 38:15, 16:

“And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days…”

With this prophetic description of the invasion from the north into Palestine, would it be possible that Russia should be so bold as to depict the scene upon its postage stamps? Yet this is an actual fact. On a 14 kopek stamp (1930) we find the above verses most dramatically illustrated. The background represents the Soviet Union. On it is the Red cavalry, reminiscent of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Russia is north of Palestine, and the black line below the horses represents the path of the horsemen which points directly to Palestine. The whole background of the design is a cloud perfectly representing Ezekiel’s vision. The Sea of Azov may be seen and the probable route of the Red Army drawn in.

Russian statesmen do not read the Bible, hence this stamp was designed in ignorance of the prophecy. Unwittingly they have revealed their real intentions. The reason for their march south is not hard to understand. They want a warm water port which is open the year around. Secondly, they want to grab the vast oil supplies of the Mid-East to keep their war juggernaut moving. All indications point to the probability that the great invasion foretold by prophecy is not far off and is one more sign of the end of the age.

Israeli troops discovered a vast underground fortress near Sidon filled with Soviet weapons when they entered Lebanon in June, 1982. There have been continual Soviet troop buildups in communist nations surrounding Israel.

“And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great River Euphrates and the water thereof dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared” (Rev. 16:12).

Whatever this prophecy may mean, one thing is evident. There was to be a strengthening of the kings of the East. East, in Bible prophecy means east of the Holy Land. Russia which is north, yet east of Palestine, controls one-sixth of the world’s land surface. One hundred years ago Japan experienced a great national awakening. For half a century, Japan has been a dominant power in the Orient. It met defeat in World War 2, however, and at the present time has little military strength. But so rapid are the changes in the world situation that today America is encouraging the nation it defeated to rearm in the battle against the menace of Communism.

China, which long has been the most populous nation of the world, though weak because of its backwardness, has had a tremendous military renaissance under Communism and now is regarded as one of the three strongest nations on the globe.

The East has thus been awakened, but the guiding spirit has been evil rather than good, for the curse of Communism has infected and corrupted vast areas.

The Creator of Universe had declared His name as YHWH. His name was and is YHWH (Exo 3:15, 15:3). Other than Moses, this name was also revealed to Abraham (Gen 12:8; Gen 22:14), Isaac (Gen 26:25). Here we must know that the Creator of Universe has an identified name as YHWH. The four Hebrew consonants that comprise YHWH are given in Scripture as God's holy Covenant name, and it is this form of His name that is the most frequently used in the Bible (about 6,800 times). First He identified the name to Moses as "I AM" (Exo 3:14). This Hebrew word is ehyeh which is the first-person singular form of the Hebrew word hayah, the Hebrew equivalent of the English verb of being (is/am/are). "YHWH" is also derived from hayah, but is the third-person singular form, meaning something akin to "HE IS". The difference between "I AM" and "YHWH" is not a difference in name, but a difference in perspective (first-person or third). From God’s perspective "I AM” and from our perspective "HE IS”. YHWH means "HE IS". As a statement of fact “I AM WHO I AM (YHWH)”. In Exo 3:15 God said that YHWH is His name forever, the name by which He is to be remembered from generation to generation.

In Hebrew Jesus name is spelled as "Yeshua". The "Ye" in Yeshua is the abbreviated form of YHWH. "Shua" is from the Hebrew word for salvation, yasha. Jesus name literally means "YHWH is salvation". The name "Jesus" then, actually contains the name "YHWH" in abbreviated form. While YHWH simply describes who God is, when it is combined with a verb it describes what God does. The name "Jesus" describes the fact that YHWH has become salvation. Who is Jesus? He is YHWH, saving His people from their sins. If YHWH is not God's name, then Jesus name becomes meaningless. To deny that God's name is YHWH is to ultimately deny the name of Jesus.

The name of Jesus encompasses the fullness of God's revelation of Himself to man--as Saviour. The name "Jesus" is so important to us because it is an expanded form of the same divine name revealed in the OT. It is not a different name of YHWH. It is only greater in that it more fully expresses who God is to us--Savior. Truly God's name is Jesus, because God's name is YHWH. We confess that God's name is YHWH every time we confess Him as Jesus.

In the Holy Bible we can find there are many verses pointing out Jesus Christ is YHWH, the Creator of Universe, and some of them I would like to state here under with reference:

Jesus Christ himself is YHWH, the creator of universe

Zech 12:10 - And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

Isa 40:3 - A voice of one calling: In the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.

Zech 2:10 - Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the LORD.

Mala 3:1 - See, I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the LORD you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the LORD Almighty.

Zech 9:9 - Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, (YHWH) righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Isaiah 7:14 - Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (Prophecy).

Matthew 1:23 - The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" - which means, "God with us" (Isaiah 7:14 prophecy fulfilled).

Note: All the above stated prophecies declared that YHWH, the God Creator of Universe was coming. Yet it was applied to Jesus Christ coming by all four Gospels (Mat 3:1-3, Mark 1:3, Luk 1:17, 76, 3:4, Joh 1:19-23). The New Testament confirms that Jesus Christ is that King who is YHWH, the God Creator of Universe (Mt 21:1-5, Joh 12:12-16).

John 10:34 - Jesus answered them, It is not written in your Law, I have said you are gods? 1Cor 10:2-4 - They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ

Isaiah 43:10-11 - You are my witnesses, declares the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.

Isaiah 45:21-22 ...there is no God apart from me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none but me. Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

Isaiah 1:18 - Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool (Prophecy).

Hosea 13:14 - I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave, is your destruction? I will have no compassion (Prophecy).

Jerm 31:34 - ...For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more (Prophecy).

Matthew 1:21 - She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

Mark 2:9-10 – Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins… He said to the paralytic.

John 1:29 - The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

John 3:17 - For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Hebrews 7:27 - ...He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.

I John 1:7 - But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

I John 3:5 - But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.

Rev 5:9 – And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation

Isaiah 45:23 - Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear (Prophecy).

Philippians 2:9-11 - Prophecy fulfilled: Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Isaiah 45:23 prophecy referring to Jesus).

Dear Readers, You must know that, there is only one way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ. Jesus answered: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (Joh 14:6). There is no other name given to men to be saved. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Act 4:12). A sinful man cannot enter the heaven. The mind of sinful man is death (Rom 8:6). “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 6:23).

To receive eternal life we must do three things: (1) We must put our faith in Jesus Christ, accept him as your Lord and Savior (Rom 10:9-10). (2) We must sincerely repent of our sins (Luke 13:3), No matter how great a sinner you are, if you sincerely confess to Him, He will forgive your sins (1Joh 1:9). (3) After the repentance, We must be baptized in water (Mark 16:16). Thus, Jesus Christ has done all possible to bring you eternal life. He paid the full price of punishment for your sins. It is now your turn to accept Him.

He is like the sun in the zenith, which when it is at the highest, shows lowest. St Augustine calls humility the mother of the grace. But before I show you who the humble man is, I shall lay down three distinctions:

1. I distinguish between being humbled and humble A man may be humbled and not humble. A sinner may be humbled by affliction. His condition is low but not his disposition. A godly man is not only humbled but humble. His heart is as low as his condition.

2. I distinguish between outward and inward humility There is a great deal of difference between humble behaviour and a humble spirit. (i) A person may behave humbly towards others, yet be proud. Who more humble than Absalom in his outward behaviour? `When any man came near to do him obeisance, Absalom took him by the hand and kissed him' (2 Sam. 15:5). But though he acted humbly, he aspired to the crown: `As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom reigneth in Hebron' (v. 10). Here was pride dressed in humility's mantle.

(ii) A person may behave humbly towards God yet be proud. `Ahab put on sackcloth and fasted and went softly' (I Kings 21:27), but his heart was not humble. A man may bow his head like a bullrush, yet lift up the ensigns of pride in his heart.

3. I distinguish between humility and policy Many make a show of humility to achieve their own ends. The Papists seem to be the most humble, mortified saints but it is rather subtlety than humility. For by this means, they get the revenues of the earth into their possession. All this they may do and yet have no godliness.

Question: How may a Christian know that he is humble and consequently godly? Answer 1: A humble soul is emptied of all swelling thoughts of himself. Bernard calls humility a self-annihilation. `Thou wilt save the humble' (Job 22:29). In the Hebrew it is `him that is of low eyes'. A humble man has lower thoughts of himself than others can have of him. David, though a king, still looked upon himself as a worm: `I am a worm, and no man' (Psa. 22:6). Bradford, a martyr, still subscribes himself a sinner. `If I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head' (Job 10:15) – like the violet which is a sweet flower, but hangs down the head.

Answer 2: A humble soul thinks better of others than of himself: `let each esteem other better than themselves' (Phil. 2:3). A humble man values others at a higher rate than himself, and the reason is because he can see his own heart better than he can another's. He sees his own corruption and thinks surely it is not so with others; their graces are not so weak as his; their corruptions are not so strong. `Surely', he thinks, `they have better hearts than I.' A humble Christian studies his own infirmities and another's excellences and that makes him put a higher value upon others than himself. `Surely I am more brutish than any man' (Prov. 30:2). And Paul, though he was the chief of the apostles, still calls himself `less than the least of all saints' (Eph. 3:8).

Answer 3: A humble soul has a low esteem of his duties. Pride is apt to breed in our holy things as the worm breeds in the sweetest fruit and froth comes from the most generous wine. A humble person bemoans not only his sins but also his duties. When he has prayed and wept, `Alas,' he says, `how little I have done! God might damn me for all this.' He says, like good Nehemiah, `Remember me, 0 my God, concerning this also, and spare me' (Neh. 13:22). `Remember, Lord, how I have poured out my soul, but spare me and pardon me.' He sees that his best duties weigh many grains too light; therefore he desires that Christ's merits may be put into the scales. The humble saint blushes when he looks at his copy. He sees he cannot write evenly, nor without blotting. This humbles him to think that his best duties run to seed. He drops poison upon his sacrifice. `Oh,' he says, `I dare not say I have prayed or wept; those which I write down as duties, God might write down as sins.'

Answer 4: A humble man is always preferring bills of indictment against himself. He complains, not of his condition, but of his heart. `Oh, this evil heart of unbelief!'

`Lord,' says Hooper, `I am hell, but thou art heaven.' A hypocrite is for ever telling how good he is. A humble soul is for ever saying how bad he is. Paul, that highflown saint, was caught up into the third heaven, but how this bird of paradise bemoans his corruptions! `0 wretched man that I am! . . . ' (Rom. 7:24). Holy Bradford sub-scribes himself, `the hardhearted sinner'. The more know-ledge a humble Christian has, the more he complains of ignorance; the more faith, the more he bewails his unbelief.

Answer 5: A humble man will justify God in an afflicted condition: `Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us' (Neh. 9:33). If men oppress and calumniate, the humble soul acknowledges God's righteousness in the midst of severity: Lo, I have sinned' (2 Sam. 24:17). `Lord, my pride, my barrenness, my sermon surfeiting have been the procuring cause of all these judgments.' When clouds are round about God, yet `righteousness is the habitation of his throne' (Psa. 97:2).

Answer 6: A humble soul is a Christ-magnifier (Phil. 1:20). He gives the glory of all his actions to Christ and free grace. King Canute took the crown off his own head and set it upon a crucifix. So a humble saint takes the crown of honour from his own head and sets it upon Christ's. And the reason is the love that he bears to Christ. Love can part with anything to the object loved. Isaac loved Rebekah and he gave away his jewels to her (Gen. 24:53). The humble saint loves Christ entirely, therefore can part with anything to him. He gives away to Christ the honour and praise of all he does. Let Christ wear those jewels.

Answer 7: A humble soul is willing to take a reproof for sin. A wicked man is too high to stoop to a reproof. The prophet Micaiah used to tell King Ahab of his sin, and the King said, `I hate him' (I Kings 22:8). Reproof to a proud man is like pouring water on lime, which grows the hotter. A gracious soul loves the one who reproves: `rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee' (Prov. 9:8). The humble-spirited Christian can bear the reproach of an enemy and the reproof of a friend.

Answer 8: A humble man is willing to have his name and gifts eclipsed, so that God's glory may be increased. He is content to be outshone by others in gifts and esteem, so that the crown of Christ may shine the brighter. This is the humble man's motto: `Let me decrease; let Christ increase.' It is his desire that Christ should be exalted, and if this is effected, whoever is the instrument, he rejoices. `Some preach Christ of envy' (Phil. 1:15). They preached to take away some of Paul's hearers. `Well,' says he, `Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice' (v.18). A humble Christian is content to be laid aside if God has any other tools to work with which may bring him more glory.

Answer 9: A humble saint likes that condition which God sees best for him. A proud man complains that he has no more; a humble man wonders that he has so much: `I am not worthy of the least of all thy mercies' (Gen. 32:10). When the heart lies low, it can stoop to a low condition. A Christian looking at his sins wonders that it is no worse with him; he does not say his mercies are small, but his sins are great. He knows that the worst piece God carves him is better than he deserves; therefore he takes it thankfully upon his knees.

Answer 10: A humble Christian will stoop to the meanest person and the lowest office; he will visit the poorest member of Christ. Lazarus' sores are more precious to him than Dives' purple. He does not say, `Stand by, come not near to me, for I am holier than thou' (Isa. 65:5), but `condescends to men of low estate' (Rom. 12:16).

Use 1: If humility is the inseparable character of a godly man, let us test our hearts by this touchstone. Are we humble? Alas, where does their godliness appear who are swollen with pride and ready to burst? But though men are proud, they will not confess it. This bastard of pride is born but none are willing to father it. Therefore let me ask a few questions and let conscience answer:

1. Are not those who are given to boasting proud? `Your glorying is not good' (1 Cor. 5:6). (i) Those who glory in their riches; their hearts swell with their estates. St Bernard calls pride the rich man's cousin. `Thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches' (Ezek. 28:5). (ii) Those who glory in their apparel. Many dress themselves in such fashions as to make the devil fall in love with them. Black spots, gaudy attire, naked breasts, what are these but the flags and banners which pride displays? (iii) Those who glory in their beauty. The body is but dust and blood kneaded together. Solomon says, `Beauty is vain' (Prov. 31:30). Yet some are so vain as to be proud of vanity. (iv) Those who glory in their gifts. These trappings and ornaments do not set them off in God's eyes. An angel is a knowledgeable creature, but take away humility from an angel, and he is a devil.

2. Are not those who have a high opinion of their own excellences proud? Those who look at themselves in the magnifying mirror of self-love appear in their own eyes better than they are. Simon Magus gave out that he was some great one (Acts 8:9). Alexander felt the need to be the son of Jupiter and of the race of the gods. Sapor, King of Persia, styles himself `Brother of the Sun and Moon'. `He tosses aside his paintpots and his words one-and-a-half feet rig' (Horace). I have read of a pope who trod upon the ck of Frederick the Emperor and as a cloak for his pride :ed that text, `Thou shalt tread upon the lion, and the agon shalt thou trample under feet' (Psa. 91:13). There is r idol like self; the proud man bows down to this idol.

3. Are not those who despise others proud? `The Pharisees trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others' (Luke 18:9). The Chinese people say that Europe has one eye and they have two, and all the rest of the world is blind. A proud man looks upon others with such an eye of scorn as Goliath did upon David: `when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him' (1 Sam. 17:42). They who stand upon the pinnacle of pride look on other men as no bigger than crows.

4. Are not those who trumpet their own praise proud? `Before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody' (Acts 5:36). A proud man is the herald of his own good deeds; he blazes his own fame, and therein lies his vice, to paint his own virtue.

5. Are not those who take the glory due to God to themselves proud? `Is not this great Babylon, that I have built?' (Dan. 4:30). So says the proud man, `Are not these the prayers I've made? Are not these the works of charity I have done?' When Herod had made an oration and the people cried him up for a god (Acts 12:22), he was well content to have that honour done to him. Pride is the greatest sacrilege; it robs God of his glory.

6. Are not those who are never pleased with their condition proud? They speak harshly of God, taxing his care and wisdom, as if he had not dealt well with them. A proud man God himself cannot please but, like Momus, he is for ever finding fault, and flying in the face of heaven.

Oh, let us search if there is none of this leaven of pride in us. Man is naturally a proud piece of flesh; this sin runs in the blood. Our first parents fell by their pride. They aspired to deity. There are the seeds of this in the best, but the godly do not allow themselves in it. They strive to kill this weed by mortification. But certainly where this sin reigns and prevails, it cannot stand with grace. You may as well call him who lacks discretion a prudent man, as him who lacks humility a godly man.

Use 2: Strive for this characteristic: be humble. It is an apostolic exhortation, `be clothed with humility' (1 Pet. 5:5). Put it on as an embroidered robe. It is better to lack anything rather than humility. It is better to lack gifts rather than humility. No, it is better to lack `the comforts of the Spirit' rather than lack humility. `What doth the Lord require of thee, but to walk humbly with thy God?' (Mic. 6:8).

1. The more value any man has, the more humble he is. Feathers fly up, but gold descends. The golden saint descends in humility. Some of the ancients have compared humility to the Celidonian stone, which is little for substance, but of rare virtue.

2. God loves a humble soul. It is not our high birth, but our low hearts that God delights in. A humble spirit is in God's view: `to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit' (Isa. 66:2). A humble heart is God's palace: `I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit' (Isa. 57:15). Great personages, besides their houses of state, have lesser houses which upon occasion they retreat to. Besides God's house of state in heaven, he has the humble soul for his retiring house, where he takes up his rest, and solaces himself. Let Italy boast that it is, for pleasure, the garden of the world. A humble heart glories in this, that it is the presence chamber of the great King.

3. The times we live in are humbling. The Lord seems to say to us now, as he did to Israel, `Put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee' (Exod. 33:5). `My displeasure is breaking forth, I have eclipsed the light of the sanctuary, I have stained the waters with blood, I have shot the arrow of pestilence, therefore lay down your pride, put off your ornaments.' Woe to them that lift themselves up, when God is casting them down. When should people be humble if not under the rod? `Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God' (1 Pet. 5:6). When God afflicts his people, and cuts them short in their privileges, it is time then to `sow sackcloth on their skin and defile their horn (or honour) in the dust' (Job 16:15).

4. What a horrid sin pride is! St Chrysostom calls it `the mother of hell'. Pride is a complicated evil, as Aristotle said. Justice comprehends all virtue in itself; so pride comprehends all vice. It is a spiritual drunkenness; it flies up like wine into the brain and intoxicates it. It is idolatry; a proud man is a self-worshipper. It is revenge; Haman plotted Mordecai's death because he would not bow the knee.

How odious this sin is to God (1 Pet. 5:5)! `Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord' (Prov. 16:5).

5. The mischief of pride. It is the breakneck of souls: `Surely Moab shall be as Sodom . . . This shall they have for their pride' (Zeph. 2:9,10). `The doves', says Pliny, `take a pride in their feathers, and in their flying high; at last they fly so high that they are a prey to the hawk.' Men fly so high in pride that at last they are a prey to the devil, the prince of the air.

6. Humility raises one's esteem in the eyes of others. All give respect to the humble: `Before honour is humility' (Prov. 15:33).

Question: What means may we use to be humble?

Answer 1: Let us set before us the golden pattern of Christ. He commenced doctor in humility: `But made himself of no reputation, and was made in the likeness of men' (Phil. 2:7). O what abasement it was for the Son of God to take our flesh! No, that Christ should take our nature when it was in disgrace, being stained with sin — this was the wonder of humility. Look at a humble Saviour, and let the plumes of pride fall.

Answer 2: Study God's immensity and purity; a sight of glory humbles. Elijah wrapped his face in a mantle when God's glory passed before him (I Kings 19:13). The stars vanish when the sun appears.

Answer 3: Let us study ourselves. First, our dark side. By looking at our faces in the mirror of the Word, we see our spots. What a world of sin swarms in us! We may say with Bernard, `Lord, I am nothing but sin or sterility, either sinfulness or barrenness.'

Secondly, our light side. Is there any good in us?

1. How disproportionate it is to the means of grace we have enjoyed! There is still something lacking in our faith (1 Thess. 3:10). O Christian, do not be proud of what you have, but be humble for what you lack.

2. The grace we have is not of our own growth. We are beholden to Christ and free grace for it. As he said of that axe which fell in the water, `Alas, master, for it was borrowed' (2 Kings 6:5), so I may say of all the good and excellence in us, `It is borrowed'. Would it not be folly to be proud of a ring that is loaned? `For who maketh thee to differ from another? And what hast thou that thou didst not receive?' (1 Cor. 4:7). The moon has no cause to be proud of her light when she borrows it from the sun.

3. How far short we come of others! Perhaps other Christians are giants in grace; they are in Christ not only before us, but above us. We are but like the foot in Christ's body; they are like the eye.

4. Our beauty is spotted. The church is said to be `fair as the moon' (Song 6:10), which when it shines brightest has a dark spot in it. Faith is mixed with infidelity. A Christian has that in his very grace which may humble him.

5. If we would be humble, let us contemplate our mortality.Shall dust exalt itself? The thoughts of the grave should bury our pride. They say that when there is a swelling in the body, the hand of a dead man stroking that part cures the swelling. The serious meditation of death is enough to cure the swelling of pride.

Every man has a testimony, we believe man’s testimony. Same way God has a testimony; do you believe God’s testimony? You must believe his testimony because his testimony is much stronger than man’s testimony. The word of God says: “We believe man’s testimony; but God’s testimony is much stronger, and he has given this testimony about his Son” (1Joh 5:9). And offcourse every man has to accept the God’s testimony and believe in his Son Jesus Christ.

Here, by this testimony, we must be aware that God has already declared by himself to the world that Jesus Christ is the only true way to the Heaven. “Father Wants is that all who see the Son and believe in him should have eternal life” (Joh 6:40). Apart from Jesus Christ you can do nothing! If you have the Jesus Christ has life, if you don’t have the Jesus Christ has no life. “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1John 5:12). The one who believe the God’s testimony and accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, then, God the creator of this universe will be the Lord, God to you, forever. “No-one who denies the Son has the father, whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also” (1John 2:23).

Whoever follows as a true Christian must have the God’s testimony in your own heart, so that no one can change you from the true faith in Jesus Christ. The word of God warns all Believers in his Son Jesus Christ of this state of affairs in the following scriptures; "Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh" (Phi 3:2), "Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him" (2Joh 9, 10). Evil one may insist or harm you to change from the true faith to a false because the evil one, he himself is a liar and its father, don't be deceived! "As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!" (Gal 1:9).

Remember, that evil one is being cursed by God, expelled from the paradise life, he lost his eternity life, he is a dead and no hope at all. While God wants is that all mankind should have the eternal life through believe in his Son Jesus Christ; evil one wants is that all mankind should fall in eternal death. Devil wants to keep all the mankind under the death and the curse, as the same as he is fallen, through providing in false faith. A mad dog ever has a hope!

All my Brothers and Sisters in Christ, hear the God’s Voice: “Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1Joh 5:10-12) Amen.

A wartime mindset must include shewd knowledge of enemy tactics. Ephesians 5:11, "Take no part in unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

"Christianity stands or falls with the reality of Satan and demons. Why? Because Jesus spent his whole ministry fighting them. If they are not real he is reduced to a comic figure.

What is Satan's aim and his strategies?

• He is the Father of lies. John 8:44

His nature is falsehood! He only speaks the truth in order to deceive.

• Therefore, his chief enemy is truth - he opposes God's word. Genesis 3:1-5

• He casts doubt on God's goodness. Genesis 3:1-5

He destroys the obedience of faith.

He opposes the truth reaching and converting people.

• He hinders missions strategy. 1 Thess. 2:18

• He distorts and prevents effective Gospel message. Acts 13:8-9

• He avoids inner need by removing external trouble. 1 John 3:12

• He uses the fear of death to hold men in bondage. Hebrews 2:15

It doesn't lead them to God because it leads them to get as many kicks here as possible.

• He causes people to stumble over bad Christian attitudes. 2 Tim. 2:24-26

• He blinds the minds of unbelievers. 2 Cor. 4:4

• He exploits a lack of understanding. Mt. 13:19

• He suggests ways that don't involve suffering. Mt. 16:23; Mt. 4:1-11

• He imitates religious roles. 2 Cor. 11:14-15; Mt.13:28,30; Rev. 2:9

• He misuses Scripture. Mt. 4:6

• He imitates signs and wonders. 2 Thess. 2:9; Mk. 13:22

• He offers exotic occult alternatives. Rev. 2:19-24

He attacks faith to destroy believers:

• attacks faith. 1 Thess. 3:5; 2 Cor. 11:3

• brings persecution. Rev. 2:9; 1 Pt. 5:8; Lk. 22:31

• brings sickness. Job 1:11; 2:5; Lk. 13:16.

• dissension over doctrine and causes rifts. Rom. 16:17-20

• sexual allurements. 1 Cor. 7:5; 1 Tim. 5:15

• unresolved anger. 2 Cor. 2:11; Eph. 4:27

• pride. 1 Tim. 3:6

We began with liar and end with pride. Connection: the truth is that God is God and we are not. It is humbling. The only way to rebel against the lowliness of creaturehood is to be a liar. Humility under God is the great devil resistance (James 4:6–7).

MARK INC Ministries After 38 years of marriage, Sharon and I are still learning how to live out God’s commands on marriage! How do I love her as Christ loves the church? I am willing to physically die for her but dying to myself every day is what Christ requires and my wife desires. Sharon is called on to respect and honor me, to submit to my leadership as her protector and provider. Sharon is a strong, gifted woman and it’s my responsibility to make sure she has the freedom to use her gifts to build God’s kingdom. Although it is much easier now because of the habits of grace God is growing in us, there are times when we must step back and resolve conflicts and differences in the context of those roles. Study Ephesians 5 together and especially note verse 21: “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” A marriage that lives out this command will reflect redemption.

People of faith often forget that the first place to serve our God is in their marriages and homes. And when we forget that important principle, we endanger the godly legacy that it is our privilege to help build. If we are going to leave a godly legacy for the next generation we must divorce-proof our home and our legacy.

A few years ago, I preached a message series titled, “Twenty-seven Precious Promises.” Every week our congregation looked at a Scriptural promise from each book of the New Testament. We determined how that promise equips us to be a redemptive presence in this fallen world. We learned the definition of “redemptive presence” in Matthew 6:33: But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.

My wife, Sharon, and I chose to engrave this verse on the inside of our wedding bands as a reminder of our life calling. These few words teach us a profound truth: our faith is practical and we must choose to live life through the grid of a Biblical worldview. How often people excited and passionate about Christ and living for Him, forget that the first place we need to be a redemptive presence is in our own homes, our own marriages. When it’s easier to be holy while “serving God” at church with Christian friends, we convince ourselves that our homes are not our priority. Yet this is a lie from the enemy because it’s in our homes that we show a broken world what the love of Christ really is. In Mark 5 Jesus makes it clear that our first priority for reflecting redemption is in the context of family. In a stunning show of power, Jesus healed a demoniac by forcing the demons into a herd of pigs. Their demonic power was so great the pigs rushed over a cliff and died. The grateful man is filled with joy and passion for Christ. He wants to go with Jesus and His disciples to help build God’s kingdom. Jesus’ response is startling: Jesus did not let him [go with them], but said, “Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” We often hear that 50% of marriages, even in the evangelical church, end in divorce. Would that statistic be different if couples applied this command to their marriages? If they saw their homes as their priority for reflecting the love of Christ – even when it’s tough?

Ten Ways to Help Divorce-Proof Your Marriage

1. Develop a Christocentric Worldview, in particular God’s view of marriage.

Consider this challenge to live out God’s call to reflect His relationship to the church in our marriages:

They say a wife and husband, Bit by bit, Can rear between themselves a mighty wall, So thick they cannot speak with ease through it, Nor can they see across it, it stands so tall. Its nearness frightens them, but each alone is powerless to tear its bulk away; And each dejected wishes he had known for such a wall, some magic thing to say. So let us build with master art, my dear, A bridge of love between your life and mine, A bridge of tenderness, and very near, A bridge of understanding, strong and fine, Till we have formed so many lovely ties, There never will be room for walls to rise. (Author unknown) And: Joseph H. Choate was a thorough gentleman as well as a distinguished lawyer in this country some years back. He had a quick wit which made him good copy for journalists. Someone once asked him, "Mr. Choate, if you were not yourself, who would you most like to be?" Without a second's hesitation Choate replied, "Mrs. Choate's second husband." Bits & Pieces, May 27, 1993, p. 23.

2. Marry the right person. Consider the price John Wesley and his wife paid for entering marriage without good counsel: While crossing a bridge in London, John Wesley stumbled and sprained his ankle. Some friends carried him to the house of Mrs. Mary Vazielle on Threadneedle Street. She was a widow with several children. She cared for Wesley and his response to her concern was to ask her to marry him. If we were writing fiction we might say that the sprained ankle was God's providential way to bring those people together. But the marriage was a disaster, and Mary finally left John. Had Wesley consulted with his brother Charles, and asked for the prayers of the brethren, he might have avoided that unfortunate situation. Mary was accustomed to her quiet home, and it was difficult for her to travel with her husband and stay in uncomfortable inns. It is unfortunate that Mary was not content just to ignore John's ministry; she actually opposed it. She gave certain personal letters to his enemies and even made additions to them that made them worse! Once she even pulled her husband around on the floor by his hair! "I felt as though I could have knocked the soul out of her!" one of Wesley's friends said. Wesley concluded that his unhappy marriage encouraged him to work harder and not complain about missing the comforts of a home. Certainly it encouraged him to be away from home more! W. Wiersbe, Wycliffe Handbook of Preaching and Preachers, Moody Press, 1984, p. 246.

3. Pick your battles. Is it really worth fighting vehemently over who takes out the trash, loads the dishwasher, is the sloppiest? You fill in your own pet peeves. Consider this wise woman’s plan for dealing with conflict: On her golden wedding anniversary, my grandmother revealed the secret of her long and happy marriage. "On my wedding day, I decided to choose ten of my husband's faults which, for the sake of our marriage, I would overlook," she explained. A guest asked her to name some of the faults. "To tell the truth," she replied, "I never did get around to listing them. But whenever my husband did something that made me hopping mad, I would say to myself, 'Lucky for him that's one of the ten.'" Roderick McFarlane, in Reader's Digest, December, 1992.

4. Understand the uniqueness and greatness of Biblical roles. After 38 years of marriage, Sharon and I are still learning how to live out God’s commands on marriage!

5. Pray and worship together. Pray together every day. Sharon and I started our marriage with the habit of praying together every night before going to sleep. It’s tough to pray with someone with whom you are arguing. Our children tell us that they sometimes heard us praying late at night. Such moments not only strengthen a couple but help a child feel safe.

6. Don’t ever take for granted your relationship. Continually focus on growing up in your marriage. Do not discount the little things, treating each other with respect and dignity, expressing your love regularly. Early in our marriage Sharon witnessed a newly married friend looking deep into the eyes of her husband and smiling warmly. That picture imprinted on her heart the need to save her best smiles for me as well as her children. Consider how you are able to stop yelling at your spouse in order to answer the phone with warmth! How do we do that? Because we make a choice to treat others better than our spouse. This should not be so in your home. A few years ago, the Harry S. Truman Library in Independence, MO made public 1,300 recently discovered letters that the late President wrote to his wife, Bess, over the course of a half-century. Mr. Truman had a lifelong rule of writing to his wife every day they were apart. He followed this rule whenever he was away on official business or whenever Bess left Washington to visit her beloved Independence. Scholars are examining the letters for any new light they may throw on political and diplomatic history. For our part, we were most impressed by the simple fact that every day he was away, the President of the United States took time out from his dealing with the world's most powerful leaders to sit down and write a letter to his wife. Bits & Pieces, October 15, 1992, pp. 15-16.

7. Partner in ministry. Find an outreach ministry in which you can serve together. Not only will this activity deepen your relationship, it will help teach your children to love serving the church.

8. Always remember the Biblical priorities in your relationships. When our children were very little I gave Sharon a plaque that reminded us of our priorities: The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. Our Biblical family priorities are: Christ, Spouse, Children. Church. Work. Note that your spouse comes before your children – always. And note that there is no other person on the face of the earth that can take the place of your spouse. Fidelity in American culture appears to be up for grabs. Wedding rings don’t seem to act as a fence for many people. Great temptation comes against godly marriages because God’s plan is for marriages to reflect His love. Commit to praying for one another to be faithful in all ways.

9. Be transparent and honest in your communication. Most marriage counseling I do centers on teaching couples Biblical principles for communicating. We come into marriage with preconceived ideas of the right way to speak, to resolve conflicts. Even when we hate the way our parents communicated, we often find ourselves becoming just like them unless we are determined by God’s grace to break the chains of the past. Observe how others communicate, study Biblical principles and be accountable to one another for practicing communication that builds up rather than tears down. Often a couple does not realize how their communication reflects badly on their relationship to Christ. As trusted friends what does your communication reveals about your relationship to one another? You may be very surprised.

10. Learn to embrace pain as your friend. This is perhaps one of the most difficult principles to live out. The hard places in marriage are God’s sandpaper designed to smooth out the rough places in our characters. There is no better woman in the world for me than my wife. I know this because we are married and God’s design is for her to complete me. Our relationship not only brings joy and pleasure, it also is an opportunity for us to become more like Christ. Marriage requires sacrifice, seeing our spouse’s needs as more important than our own. Such moments are often painful and yet that is the model of Christ. And isn’t He the One whom we are to emulate in all of life? So with Jesus I encourage you to “go home to your family and tell them [by the way you treat them, love them, encourage them] how much the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you.”

No! Heaven will be so dramatically different from the present world that to describe it requires the use of negatives, as well as positives. To describe what is totally beyond human understanding also requires pointing out how it differs from present experience.

The first change from their earthly life believers in heaven will experience is that God will wipe away every tear from their eyes (cf. Rev. 7:17, Isa. 25:8). That does not mean that people who arrive in heaven will be crying and God will comfort them. They will not, as some imagine, be weeping as they face the record of their sins. There is no such record, because "there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 8:1), since Christ "bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed" (1 Pet. 2:24).

What it declares is the absence of anything to be sorry about—no sadness, no disappointment, no pain. There will be no tears of misfortune, tears over lost love, tears of remorse, tears of regret, tears over the death of loved ones, or tears for any other reason.

Another dramatic difference from the present world will be that in heaven there will no longer be any death (cf. Isa. 25:8). The greatest curse of human existence will be no more. "Death," as Paul promised, "is swallowed up in victory" (1 Cor. 15:54). Both Satan, who had the power of death (Heb. 2:14), and death itself will have been cast into the lake of fire (20:10, 14).

Nor will there be any mourning, or crying in heaven. The grief, sorrow, and distress that produce mourning and its outward manifestation, crying, will not exist in heaven. This glorious reality will be the fulfillment of Isaiah 53:3-4: "He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, And we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted." When Christ bore believers' sins on the cross, He also bore their sorrows, since sin is the cause of sorrow.

The perfect holiness and absence of sin that will characterize heaven will also mean that there will be no more pain. On the cross, Jesus wa s "wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed" (Isa. 53:5). While the healing in view in that verse is primarily spiritual healing, it also includes physical healing.

Commenting on Jesus' healing of Peter's mother-in-law, Matthew 8:17 says, "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 'He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sickness.'" The healing ministry of Jesus was a preview of the well-being that will characterize the millennial kingdom and the eternal state. The glorified sin-free bodies believers will possess in heaven will not be subject to pain of any kind.

All those changes that will mark the new heaven and the new earth indicate that the first things have passed away. Old human experience related to the original, fallen creation is gone forever, and with it the mourning, suffering, sorrow, disease, pain, and death that has characterized it since the Fall.

The church has spoken out very little and done virtually nothing in opposition to the presence and influence of gambling. Government, especially on the state level, is an advocate for gambling, and the church needs to take a stand, expose the evils of gambling, and declare how it's really at odds with the principles of Scripture.

Why gambling is wrong:

· Not justified by the casting of lots. In biblical times lots functioned much like dice. They were made of sheep's knuckle bones, and the roll of those bones indicated a certain meaning. When the people had to make an important decision and had difficulty determining God's will, He sovereignly intervened and caused the lots to fall in such a way as to tell His followers what to do. At no time did anyone ever put something of value at risk.

· Denies the reality of God's sovereignty. Chance, the major promise of gambling's outworking, is the fabric of a human imagination that wants to deny the existence of a sovereign God. The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His sovereignty rules over all (Ps. 103:19).

· Builds on irresponsible stewardship. The worst possible stewardship is for someone to throw God's resources away at the altar of a god called chance or luck. It's idolatry of the worst sort. Nothing we have really belongs to us; it belongs to God, and we should use all of it to His glory (Matt. 6:19-20).

· Erodes the biblical work ethic. We are to earn our bread by the sweat of our brows (Gen. 3:19) not from games of chance. The addictive wagering process saps the good that a decent salary can afford.

· Driven by the sin of covetousness. Gambling - and its accompanying greediness - violates the 10th commandment (Ex. 20:17). It assumes that God has not given us what we ought to have and that there is somehow more wealth that will finally make us happy.

Builds on the exploitation of others. It exploits people who can least afford to be victims and violates the eighth commandment, You shall not steal (Ex. 20:15). For everyone who wins something at gambling, there are millions of losers - people who have been duped by the seductive marketing appeal of gambling and prompteThe subject of gambling rarely is addressed within the church, but it must be in view of the popularity and widespread prominence of state lotteries and other increasingly popular forms of gambling.

What is gambling?

· It originated from the Old English word gammon - the basic concept of a game. Gambling is based on sheer chance and randomness - without skill or personal involvement. It's not like normal competition, in which you strive for a prize by producing something better, by accomplishing something sooner, or by doing something more efficiently. In the hope of winning something of greater value, a person risks something of value to the forces of chance beyond his or her control or rational expectation. It is accompanied by the notion that the longer you engage in it, the better your odds of succeeding. But sheer random chance never changes its odds, because there are no elements you can control to increase your likelihood of winning.

Recent trends of gambling:

· Annually, $1 trillion are spent on legal and illegal gambling.

· More than 10 million Americans are compulsive gamblers - more than the number of alcoholics. Gambling is growing rapidly in popularity and acceptability, and has become convenient - at grocery stores and gas stations, off-track betting parlors, and on the Internet.

The church's position on gambling:

· The church has spoken out very little and done virtually nothing in opposition to the presence and influence of gambling.

Denies the reality of God's sovereignty.

20:15). For everyone who wins something at gambling, there are millions of losers - people who have been duped by the seductive marketing appeal of gambling and prompted to throw away large sums of money.

Dr. Jeff Myers

Author, professor, and conference speaker

I once heard of a church where members thought it was against God's will to vote. Concerned that a corrupt politician would win a local election, church members gathered for an all-night prayer vigil. In the morning, however, they refused to vote and the good candidate lost - by fewer than the number of votes represented by those at the prayer meeting.

It seems tragic, but maybe those church members did the right thing. After all, isn't politics a dirty business? Christians are citizens of heaven, not of earth ... right?

Those questions are vitally important and every Christian in every generation must grapple with them and come up with defensible answers. Sadly, many people are too apathetic to even ask the right questions.

If this describes you, I hope this article shakes you up a bit and motivates you to change. You have the opportunity to influence the world if you'll only take it.

The High Cost of Indifference:

I teach political communication at a Christian college. Once several years ago students in my class complained endlessly about the lack of Christian influence in government.

Yet the day after the election, I discovered that only two of my students had voted. Most of them weren't even registered to vote! I told them, "For the rest of the semester, if you didn't vote, you have lost your right to complain in this class." Years later they still remember the lesson. Some of them still e-mail me every time they vote!

In 1971, young people were for the first time guaranteed the constitutional right to vote. Yet according to statistics generated by the Voter News Service, people between the ages of 18 and 32 vote in lower numbers than any other generation. They account for 1/3 of eligible voters, but less than 25% of the actual voters.

v Maybe you don't trust the government. Maybe you just aren't interested in civic concerns. But beware! Your lack of interest could lead to a vicious cycle:

--If you aren't interested, you won't get involved.

--If you don't get involved, your interests are not represented.

--Because you are not represented, you have no voice.

--Because you have no voice, you lose interest and trust even more.

And on and on it goes, until many adults consider young people to be politically irrelevant.

It's not just a failure to vote that is the problem. When was the last time you picked up a newspaper to study a political issue? Or write a letter to an elected official or to the newspaper editor?

As Christians, we must constantly ask ourselves, "Are we doing everything we can to exercise our rights and privileges as citizens?"

What It Means to Be a Christian Citizen

There are at least five good reasons why Christians should seek to be good citizens:

1. God has granted us authority.

All authority belongs to God, but He has put human beings on the earth as caretakers. What is our task? According to Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20, we are to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey God in every area of life.

It is hard to imagine that Jesus would have wanted the political realm to be excluded. We must disciple people to make godly decisions about government.

2. Christians are needed to stand against evil.

If the Christian worldview is true, then Christians should be able to contribute more positively than any one else to the political process. St. Augustine said that those who are citizens of God's kingdom are best equipped to be citizens of the kingdom of man. I think he was right.

The alternative to Christian involvement is unthinkable. In the 20th Century, atheistic and secular humanistic leaders gained control of nations all across Europe, Asia and Africa. What was the result?

According to historian R. J. Rummel, "Almost 170 million men, women and children have been shot, beaten, tortured, knifed, burned, starved, frozen, crushed or worked to death; buried alive, drowned, hung, bombed, or killed in any other of the myriad ways governments have inflicted death on unarmed, helpless citizens and foreigners." These facts led historian John Hallowell to note, "Only through a return to faith in God, as God revealed Himself to man in Jesus Christ, can modern man and his society find redemption from the tyranny of evil."

3. Christian values contribute positively to society.

The Bible's solutions make sense. It is Christian involvement in government through the ages that gave us hospitals, civil liberties, abolition of slavery, modern science, the elevation of women, regard for human life, great works of art and literature, a workable system of justice, education for common people, the free-enterprise system, and much, much more. When we see the good that results from applying God's principles, and the horror that results from rejecting them, doesn't it seem cruel and irresponsible to keep Jesus' teachings about truth, love and compassion to ourselves?

4. Obedience to authority demands good citizenship.

The Apostle Paul in Romans chapter 13 clearly states that we must obey governmental leaders because all authority comes from God. Here's the catch: in America, the people are the leaders! Here, at least, we express our obedience to God by exercising our rights and privileges as citizens.

A democratic republic such as we have in America is perhaps the most difficult form of government to maintain. As he emerged from a meeting of the Constitutional Convention, a woman asked him, "Mr. Franklin, what sort of government have you given us?" Franklin replied, "A republic, madam, if you can keep it."

Franklin and the other founding fathers understood the peril of apathy. If citizens don't get involved, elected representatives quickly begin to express their own interests or the interests of those who are willing to pay them money and attention. Apathy and greed soon give way to corruption and injustice which give way to tyranny and misery.

5. Good citizenship sets an example for generations to come.

Those who apply God's principles to government pave the way for generations of blessing. In 1768 a Christian minister named John Witherspoon became president of the College of New Jersey, now Princeton. While there he taught biblical principles of government to his students.

Of the 478 young men who were graduated during his tenure, writes author John Eidsmoe, "114 became ministers; 13 were state governors; 3 were U. S. Supreme Court judges; 20 were U.S. Senators; 33 were U.S. Congressmen; Aaron Burr, Jr., became Vice-President; and James Madison became President."

As a Christian, Witherspoon exerted an enormous influence on the direction of American government. You and I may not have the gifts of John Witherspoon, but we can still make a big difference if we put our minds to it.

Now It Starts!

I hope you take on the challenge of becoming a good citizen. In the "Gettysburg Address" Abraham Lincoln expressed hope that "government of the people, by the people, and for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Hundreds of thousands have died to establish freedom and justice. Do not let their deaths be in vain.

The Wall Street Journal is out with one of those eye-opening stories that defy common moral sense. It seems that Jason Ceyanes, the 35-year-old superintendent of schools in Argyle, Texas, decided to crack down on sexually-suggestive dancing at the local high school. But, when the superintendent banned "freak dancing," he got into trouble with some of Argyle's parents.

A new resolve by school officials in this booming Dallas suburb to crack down on sexually suggestive dancing -- and skimpy clothing -- has sparked a rancorous debate over what boundaries should be set for teenagers' self-expression. Argyle joins a long list of other schools around the country that have banned the hip-hop inspired dancing known as "grinding" or "freak dancing."

But in Argyle, a once-sleepy farming community strained by explosive growth from an influx of well-to-do suburbanites, the controversy has gotten vicious. Some parents blame the newly installed school superintendent, Jason Ceyanes, 35, for ruining their children's October homecoming dance by enforcing a strict dress code and making provocative dancing off-limits. Disgusted, a lot of kids left, and the dance ended early.

Mr. Ceyanes says he fears current cleavage-baring dress styles combined with sexually charged dancing could lead to an unsafe environment for students.

"This is not just shaking your booty," he said. "This is pelvis-to-pelvis physical contact in the private areas...and then moving around."

"Freak dancing" is well known throughout the nation, and it involves what can only be described as "sexually charged" physical contact and movement. But many of the kids in Argyle were "disgusted" that freak dancing was banned at the homecoming dance, so they left. That might be fairly easy to understand. After all, adolescents are expected to exhibit adolescent patterns of misbehavior. What makes this story so interesting is that so many parents responded by joining their adolescents in immature response. In fact, their protest of the superintendent's policy is shocking.

As the paper explained, "Many parents support Mr. Ceyanes's actions. But another vocal faction has been harshly critical of the new superintendent, creating a deep rift in the community. These parents defend the children of Argyle as 'good kids,' and say they should be trusted to dance and dress the way they want.

"Here is one of the moral hallmarks of our confused age. Parents defy authority and propriety and justify the misbehavior of their own children while calling them "good kids." In this case, they argue that these "good kids" should be allowed "to dance and dress the way they want" -- even if that means sexually suggestive dress and sexually charged dancing.

Mr. Ceyanes held a public meeting for parents and played a video of freak dancing. "I cannot imagine that there is a father in this room who could watch this video and be all right with a young man dancing with his daughter in that fashion," he told the parents. This is further evidence of a trend long in coming. Fashion styles for adult women now mimic those of adolescent girls. Why? So many moms want to act like teenagers and dress as provocatively as their offspring. Far too many parents want to act like their teenagers' friends and peers, not like parents. Parents, after all, are expected to act like adults, and this is a society that depreciates adulthood and valorizes adolescence.

When a story like this makes the front page of The Wall Street Journal, something significant has shifted on the moral landscape. When parents demand that their "good kids" be allowed to freak dance at school events, the real story shifts from the kids to the parents.

Can we live without loyalty? James Q. Wilson argues that the decline of marriage and loyalty now threatens to undermine our social cohesiveness and to produce a generation that cares little about loyalty and prizes freedom over character.

James Q. Wilson is one of America's foremost public intellectuals. His writings launched a revolution in our understanding of crime and social dysfunction and his insights into our cultural crisis provide some of the most insightful analysis and constructive arguments yet to be found. Now serving as the Ronald Reagan Professor of Public Policy at Pepperdine University, Wilson sees the decline of marriage as a central threat to civilization itself.

In "The Ties That Do Not Bind: The Decline of Marriage and Loyalty," published in the Fall issue of In Character, Wilson addresses the decline of marriage within its larger social context--arguing that our current marriage crisis is rooted in a basic failure to reconcile the values of character and freedom.

"Of all of the relationships into which people enter, the family is the most important," Wilson asserts. "We are raised by parents, confronted with siblings, and introduced to peers through our familial roots. Indeed, human character arises out of the very commitments people make to others in their family or outside of it. Marriage, of course, is the supreme form of that commitment." Thus, when marriage is marginalized, character suffers. Wilson knows the statistics. Married couples are happier, in the main, than unmarried persons, and married couples and their children are less likely to commit crimes. Of course, the virtues of marriage far exceed those statistical indicators. Nevertheless, the social fallout caused by the marginalization of marriage is easy to document.

Wilson understands that our current cultural crisis is deeply rooted in a larger intellectual context. He sees the essential tension that produces America's culture war as a battle between character and freedom. "The Western world is the proud beneficiary of the Enlightenment, that cultural and intellectual movement that espoused freedom, endorsed scientific inquiry, and facilitated trade," he explains. "But for a good life, mere freedom is not sufficient. It must work with and support commitment, for out of commitment arises the human character that will guide the footsteps of people navigating the tantalizing opportunities that freedom offers." As Wilson sees it, freedom and character "are not incompatible, but keeping them in balance is a profound challenge for any culture."

Wilson brings the issue of loyalty to the forefront of his argument on behalf of marriage. The language of loyalty is central to any consideration of the morality of social life, but Wilson offers unique insights into how the virtue of loyalty is foundational to the very idea of marriage.

Is loyalty always a virtue? Wilson acknowledges that loyalty cannot be the supreme moral good, for it is possible to be loyal to the wrong cause, the wrong authority, or the wrong association. As he remarks, "A Nazi is not regarded as a moral person because he is loyal to Nazism."

Thus, Wilson proposes that loyalty as a positive virtue should be defined as "the natural sociability of people." Accordingly, "A loyal person is someone who is attached to other people for the long term based on a deep sense of what is due to them."

In some, Wilson argues that a sense of loyalty is a civilizational essential and that the context of the family--with marriage at the center--is essential to the inculcation of loyalty in the young. Sociopaths are produced when this essential commitment to loyalty is missing. The risk of producing sociopaths escalates significantly when a large number of children and adolescents lack the loyalty-building context of the family with married parents.

"The fundamental social institution that encourages loyalty is the family," Wilson argues. "An infant is raised by one or two parents and acquires an attachment, usually a strong one, to these people." Beyond this, the child develops attachments of loyalty to siblings, extended family, and peers as brought into the individual's life through the structure of the family and its life.

Looking to Western Europe and its ongoing experiment with radicalized social revolution, Wilson suggests that the more radical heirs of the Enlightenment are trying to reap the benefits of marriage while simultaneously undermining the institution. He correctly points to the fact that a growing number of activists and ideologues in the United States are urging this country to follow the same example.

This process is being aided and abetted by the United States Supreme Court. As Wilson recounts: "In the late nineteenth century it spoke of marriage as a 'sacred obligation' and a 'holy estate' that was the source of civilization itself. By 1972 it had abandoned any such reference and said instead that marriage is 'an association of two individuals, each with a separate emotional and intellectual makeup.' Marriage was once a sacrament, then it became a sacred obligation, and now it is a private contract."

The embrace of cohabitation as an alternative to marriage has accelerated the decline of marital commitment. "Men and women who cohabit have only a weak incentive to pool their resources and to put up with the inevitable emotional bumps that come from sharing an apartment and a bed," Wilson explains. Couples choose to cohabitate rather than to marry precisely because they do not want to be bound by the public commitment that marriage represents. Furthermore, the stigma and shame associated with unmarried cohabitation--and with having children out of wedlock--has largely evaporated.

"Why does marriage beget loyalty when cohabitation does not?," Wilson asks. "The difference is that marriage follows a public, legally recognized ceremony in which each person swears before friends and witnesses to love, honor, and cherish the other until death parts them. Cohabitation merely means shacking up."

Interestingly, Wilson traces a growing cultural recognition that the decline of marriage is detrimental to the society. Nevertheless, the majority of Americans appear unwilling to do anything about the problem. Furthermore, the problem becomes more acute among the young. Wilson notes that sixty percent of high school seniors think that cohabitating before marriage is likely to lead to greater happiness if the couple should ever choose to marry. The exact opposite is the case, of course. A mountain of statistical evidence and research indicates that cohabitation prior to marriage actually weakens any future marriage. Wilson cites sociologist Barbara Dafoe Whitehead's argument that "cohabitation is not to marriage what spring training is to baseball."

Wilson sees some signs of hope on the horizon. As he presents his case, he admits that there is "no magic bullet" that will quickly lead to a recovery of marriage and its central loyalties in the near future. Our society has actually created financial and legal incentives to avoid marriage, to give birth to children out of wedlock, and to dissolve marriages at will. In the end, however, James Q. Wilson argues that a recovery of marriage and the virtue of loyalty that marriage and family uniquely inculcate will be essential to the future of our civilization. Once again, the issue comes back to the tension between character and freedom. "In every aspect of our lives we accept limits to freedom," Wilson explains, "but in the case of the limits set by marriage we gain a great deal in return: longer, healthier lives; better sex; and decent children. Loyalty to spouse and children and relatives enhances our capacity to enjoy the freedom we have."

Wilson's analysis affirms the essential goodness of marriage and its central place in civilization. This important article represents both a warning and a sign of hope.

Editor's Note: The following is a report on the practical applications of Jill Rigby's new book, Raising Unselfish Children in a Self-Absorbed World.

Many parents hope they can raise healthy kids by building their children’s self-esteem and focusing on their happiness as much as possible. But the result is the opposite of what they hope to achieve: self-absorbed kids who grow up into unhealthy adults – unable to find satisfaction, get along with others, or contribute well to society.

By giving children the message that their lives are all about their own fulfillment, parents are actually preventing them from discovering true fulfillment. Parents who are bold enough to raise their kids to be givers rather than takers, however, help their kids find God’s best for them in the process.

Here’s how you can raise unselfish children in a self-absorbed world

Replace a mirror with a window. Help your kids see beyond themselves to other people. If you don’t take the mirror of self-centeredness out of your children’s hands, they’ll become intolerable to live with when they grow up and someone else will shatter the mirror for them, hurting them with its broken pieces. Aim to raise your kids to become selfless adults who function well in the world because they have self-respect, rather than self-absorbed adults who can’t function well because they feel entitled.

Take a hard look at yourself. You’re an important role model for your children. Honestly evaluate in what ways your own lifestyle is either selfish or selfless. Are your good deeds mostly about advancing your own agenda, or about the people you serve? Do you rationalize thoughtless decisions? Do you make excuses for cruel choices? Do you blame others while forgiving yourself? Do you buy things in order to feel better? Do you discipline yourself to live simply and with contentment, or are you constantly pursuing more yet are never satisfied? Ask God to reveal your selfish attitudes and actions. Then ask Him to empty your heart of selfish desires. Do whatever you can to model selflessness for your kids, such as by: not allowing difficult circumstances to make you bitter, trusting God with your children, giving without expecting something in return, making sacrifices, displaying courage, and loving your spouse if you’re married.

Accept responsibility and make a plan. Take full responsibility for your parenting so far – and how that has affected your kids – instead of blaming others like your children’s friends, teachers, or neighbors; the media; or society. Decide that from now on, you’ll change the way you’ve been raising your kids in order to change their perspectives on life, no matter how difficult they may be. Make a commitment to God to raise your children to be others-centered rather than self-centered. Make a commitment to your spouse to live with less in order to enjoy more. Make a commitment to faithfully and joyfully tithe. Make a commitment not to buy the latest products for yourself or your children unless you truly need something. Make a commitment to spend time together as a family regularly. Invite God to transform you into the person and parent He wants you to become. Study the Bible often so you’ll be able to teach your kids God’s ways. Live with integrity so your children can respect you when you reprimand them. Trade your pride in for humility so you can effectively discipline your kids, showing them that you’re their authority because God is your authority. Follow your own advice, doing what you say, so you’ll be able to successfully guide your children.

Take charge of your kids. Realize that children need parents who make decisions for them until they’re mature enough to make decisions for themselves. Don’t go to unhealthy extremes, either: deflecting your responsibility to take charge of your parenting duties and forcing your kids to be in charge before they’re ready, or giving too much or too little (without regard for your children’s needs) while depriving them of the ability to the mature and take charge of their own lives one day. Instead, build your kids’ critical thinking skills in age-appropriate ways by allowing them to make the decisions that they’re capable of making at each stage of their development.

Meet all of your children’s needs, but not all of their desires. Refuse to overindulge your kids in ways like: doing for your kids what they can do for themselves, buying them too much stuff, not expecting them to do chores, not having clear rules, giving them things or experiences that aren’t appropriate for their age or interests, giving them things to meet your own needs (such as looking good to others) rather than their needs, giving too much while expecting too little, and neglecting to teach your kids the life skills they need to survive in the world beyond your home. Teach your children the difference between a need and a want. Then make them work for what they want but don’t need, such as by doing extra household chores to save money for a certain video game. Help them develop patience. Give them opportunities to learn responsibility by assigning them age-appropriate duties to perform regularly. Make sure that you not only explain how to carry out their duties, but show them how to do so, as well.

Encourage your kids to place their confidence in God rather than in themselves. Help your kids know who they are and Whose they are, learn not to think more highly of themselves than they should, choose to be obedient to God regardless of what it costs them, accept their calls from God, learn to listen to God’s voice (such as by reading and memorizing Scripture, and listening to God during prayer), recognize evidence of God at work in the circumstances of their lives, serve God by serving other people (through opportunities you give them), and use their natural talents and spiritual gifts to contribute to others around them and help fulfill God’s purposes for their lives.

Cultivate compassion in your children. Fill your kids’ hearts with love so that, secure in the knowledge that they are loved themselves, they’ll be able to love other people. Choose some of the many different blessings from the Bible and pray them over your children. Aim to show your kids how much you love them through your actions and words every day. Model compassion for them by letting them see you act compassionately toward yourself, them, and others such as your family members and friends. Teach them to get to know people to understand them, and to empathize with their feelings. Help your children learn to look at situations from other people’s viewpoints. Teach them to love others. Practice hospitality, such as by inviting people over to your home for meals, opening your home up for youth group meetings, or welcoming houseguests. Do some service projects with your kids, working together to meet a need in your community (such as doing yard work for an elderly neighbor).

Build family togetherness. Strengthen your family’s relationships to help your kids increase their sense of security, which will give them the confidence to reach out to others in love. Let them learn from their experiences in your family – through good and bad – that love is choice rather than just a feeling. Eat meals together as often as possible. Work on family projects together throughout the year, from making a time capsule together in January and planting a garden in March to going on a neighborhood treasure hunt in June and thanking important people in your lives in November. Help your kids see how each of their parts in your shared projects contributes to the good of the whole.

Help your kids learn how to forgive. Teach your children how to show remorse, repent, and apologize to others they’ve wronged. Forgive your kids when they do wrong. Forgive others when they offend you. Ask your kids for forgiveness when you wrong them.

Cultivate generosity and gratitude. Help your kids learn how to live with open hands and open hearts by giving them plenty of opportunities to give to others. Nurture gratitude in your children in ways like giving them less stuff, unplugging their electronics on certain days and doing simple activities together instead, encouraging them to pray prayers of thanksgiving often, and requiring them to write thank-you notes for gifts they receive.

Give your children opportunities to serve their community. Incorporate community service into your lifestyle on a regular basis. Consider participating in projects like: hosting a neighborhood Bible club, collecting and delivering needed items for a homeless shelter, visiting elderly people in your area who have difficulty getting out (both those who still live at home, as well as those in facilities like nursing homes), volunteering to teach a class in something that makes use of one of your children’s talents, going Christmas caroling through your neighborhood, and thanking employees at your kids’ schools through notes and gifts.

Help your kids make a positive difference in the world. Give your children tangible ways they can contribute to the world beyond their local community, such as: working on a political campaign, writing letters to the editors of newspapers about topics in which they’re interested, contacting their elected officials about issues about which they care, and supporting global humanitarian efforts through charities working to help those in need around the world.

Parent with eternity in view. Remember that it’s not your job to make your kids happy, but it is your job to point them to the One who can make them holy. Make it a top priority to help your kids keep growing closer to Christ. Nurture their faith so that when they’re confronted with situations in which they must decide to respond either selfishly or selflessly, they’ll choose to trust God and respond with the selfless love that will bless all concerned.

By Brian Atwood

Every time Jesus met someone demon-possessed He kicked the demons out! This case is unusual because of where it took place - in the very house of God!

Why in the world would a man possessed by demons even be interested in going to the house of God?

Why would the devil want to go to church?

1. Because the devil has always been religious.

Satan and his demons are even rather orthodox in some of their beliefs. A. W. Tozer said, "The devil is a better theologian than any of us and is a devil still."

Of course it’s not just what you believe that matters.

James 2:18,19 - But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe there is one God. Good! EVEN THE DEMONS BELIEVE THAT - and shudder.

The devil is monotheistic. He knows there’s only one God. Problem is, he doesn’t worship God. When he shows up at church it isn’t for true worship but rather for false worship.

Satan’s religion is false religion but it is religion nonetheless. He doesn’t even mind if we show up for worship - just as long as its false worship.

He loves to see folks go to church to talk about other worshippers. He loves to see us go to uplift our own goodness. He loves it when we are preoccupied with other things - like who hurt our feelings recently, and what so and so thinks about us. He loves to hear our critical comments about the worship leaders and the pastor’s preaching.

The devil loves it when we don’t put our hearts into praising God. He likes seeing us just going through the motions. He can stand anything but worship of God in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)

The devil is opposed to Christianity but he isn’t opposed to churchianity.

The demons know who Jesus is. The one in the synagogue did. He believed in the Incarnation of Christ - that he was both God and man at the same time.

The demon clearly identified Christ’s humanity by calling Him "Jesus of Nazareth". But he also identified Christ’s deity by calling Him "the Holy One of God". (verse 24)

The church must surely be on guard against false doctrine. But the danger we are sometimes less aware of is false worship. We must always guard against dead religion.

We cannot afford to become complacent and nonchalant about our worship of God! We should consistently re-evaluate why we worship and how we worship.

The Word says concerning dead worship by dead churches and believers: "having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them." (2 Timothy 3:5)

2. The devil goes to church because he’s looking for prey.

Notice how the plural pronouns indicate just how closely the demon was identified with the man through whom he was speaking.

"What do you want with US Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy US?" (verse 24)

This may not have been a case of multiple demon possession. It may have been an instance of one demon making his host a puppet. The "us" was the demon and his host.

Satan’s ultimate goal is to have control. He can possess those who don’t have the Holy Spirit within.

He can’t possess true Christ followers, but he does want to manipulate us and hinder our work for God and the growth of our faith.

Remember what Jesus said to Simon Peter? "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat." (Luke 22:... 31)

Simon thought he would be able to go through all the trials with Jesus without cracking. Though his faith didn’t fail completely, he miserably flunked a major test. He disavowed all knowledge of Jesus when Jesus was being falsely accused and beaten.

Peter was given another chance and he learned from his mistake, but we need to learn from it also. Satan is out to sift us.

That’s why Peter would later write in one of his letters to the churches this admonition: "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8)

If you think the devil doesn’t do some of his prowling in church you haven’t been around long. Satan even has control of the pulpits in some churches.

Listen to what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15:

"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what they deserve."

3. The devil goes to church because he’s seeking worship.

The devil wants to be worshipped as if he were God.

Isaiah 14:12-14 - "How have you fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, ’I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’"

Remember what the devil said to Jesus? "All this I will give you, if you will bow down and worship me." (Matthew 4:9)

Satan worship will characterize the Great Tribulation. (Rev. 9:20) Satan will even resurrect the beast and kill everyone who doesn’t worship him. (Rev. 13:15)

Satan will be able to accomplish for a short while what he has longed for all along.

But until that day comes the true follower of Christ is involved in a struggle. Our great struggle is not with paying our bills or staying healthy. Our greatest struggle is a spiritual one.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:12)

Forget the war on terror for now, even though Satan is behind it. Let’s focus on the spiritual war that exists to hinder the work of God.

Let’s not be so naive as to neglect the fact that we war with the devil even when we come to church!
